I'm a recent convert from an aging Sprint Palm Pre to the LG Optimus-S. I am loving the Android phone so far, especially the fact that I actually have a wealth of apps to choose from. I am really interested in installing the Beautiful Widgets weather and clock app on the phone, but I noticed that a lot of the reviews from users with higher performance phones than the Optimus complain about the widget causing their phone performance to tank. I wonder if anyone on this forum uses the widget regularly on the Optimus-S and if they could speak to the performance and battery life of the phone with the widget enabled. I would very much like to have this gracing my home screen, but I don't want to shell out the money for it if it's going to kill my performance and battery. In case it helps, I'm rooted and have the ThundeROM 1.3 installed. No OCing yet. Thanks a ton for the help guys!

I used beautiful widgets on my Samsung Moment and had no problem and the Optimus is a superior phone. Go ahead and purchase it because you have 24 hours to return the application.

I have to the app your talking about but the free one there is no drain in battery and no performance slow down that I have seen the only thing I could think that battery saver people like me I would say it would think its the live wallpapers and the weather clock would kill the battery but I kill the weather clock and keep the live wallpaper lol thus reduces killing my battery and I'm on thunde rom v1.3 and I'm oc'ing at 806'ish

I've been using this app with very little drain on the battery.....I have the paid version and it stays on phone

Hey guys thanks for the quick responses! I was unaware that you could return and refund an app (something you can't do on Pre) so I decided to dive in and buy the paid version. So far it is great, I haven't noticed any difference in the phone performance at all. The battery does seem to be draining a little faster, but I have been doing a lot of browsing and calling so it would be hard to attribute the drain just to the app. It is a great home screen widget. I'll post more if I have any other thoughts about the experience. I have until 4pm tomorrow to decide if I want to keep it!

I've been running Beautiful Widgets on my Optimus S with no noticeable battery decline. I use the "Beautiful Home Widget" on my main home screen with refresh set to hourly. I really like the large digital clock and expanded weather when tapping the sun/moon icon.

Scott, after an afternoon of use I think I agree that there's no performance or battery loss. It really is a phenomenal widget for the exact reasons you said.
