Best Buy Pre-Orders

As far as I'm aware, there is no way to override it. Manager or not. Street dates are extremely important and it's not up to a store manager discretion to break them. There are serious contractual implications to doing that. This is a Samsung issue, they have to give Best Buy permission to break street date.

It is on Best Buy to make a case to Samsung as well. Best Buy has already lost sales and will continue to if people can get it somewhere else sooner. That is fact.

I know they shipped them early and some people received there's early. But are they releasing them in-store yet?
 
He is 100% powerless. The decision to break street date is WAY above an individual store managers pay grade.
I don't blame the managers for this situation. But given the large number of people who are being notified that their phones can be picked up today, April 20, someone in Best Buy's upper management should take responsibility for fixing the problem.
 
Well, I don't mind waiting, but I would like to be able to claim the $99 bundle. Hopefully there will still be one left for me...LOL

Are you saying best buy will have some? This should just be a mail in thing right? Or are you just being sarcastic?
 
I just got another email from Best Buy stating my order is ready but not to be picked up until 4/21. LOL they must be getting sick of people coming in
 
Order status says ready for pick up, however received the email saying to pick up tomorrow. I just received a call to set up an appointment. I said 6:30 and all they said was 'ok around 6:30, have a good day'. I figured with an appointment they might tell me where to go or someone specific to look for. Anyway I guess we will see tomorrow.
 
I just called and they said I can come pick it up now. I said you understand the release date, an I didn't even finish the sentence and she said YES IT'S FINE. Come pick it up. I said you're sure. She said 100%. No problem. Ik leaving in 10 minutes. I'll let you guys know but she insisted it's fine and I donr have to keep asking. Lol.

The $99 VR bundle comes with the free VR bundle and an extra SD card plus bluetooth headphones. If you ordered from Samsung direct you could claim it right away, however if you ordered elsewhere you need you phone in hand before you can order it. The promotion is limited to 50,000 of the extra bundles. So many people have received the phone early I am concerned that the 50,000 units will be gone when I go to order.
 
Just got an email saying mine shipped. Tracking says it's on truck for delivery today. I was starting to lose hope...
 
Got both of mine. UPS didn't ask for a signature so I think the online release option worked. I activated one, smart switch took under half an hour. New phone is sleek and fast, but honestly it's not a huge difference from the S7. FPS is fine and virtual home button is great.

Just curious...is there anyone left in this thread who pre-ordered online (Verizon/Silver S8) with BB for delivery who hasn't either received their phone or at least got shipping notification? My frickin order status has been sitting on "Preparing" since Tuesday afternoon, with no movement, no emails from BB or shipping notices at all, and no scheduled deliveries showing on UPS MyChoice. I mean...Seriously...WTF? I know if I call BB and sit on hold forever, I'm just going to get a spill about tomorrow being release day, regardless of the number of folks who've received theirs already.

I just called my best buy and they said it won't let it through. They have tried multiple times too scan it but it gets denied.

Did you try calling the automated system? I was able to get my tracking number yesterday despite not getting any updates from BB. I just was not able to track it because I couldn't tell the difference between the automated system saying 'V' not 'Z'.
