I went to the store and did not get my phone, but left with a $20 gift certificate for my inconvenience.
As far as I'm aware, there is no way to override it. Manager or not. Street dates are extremely important and it's not up to a store manager discretion to break them. There are serious contractual implications to doing that. This is a Samsung issue, they have to give Best Buy permission to break street date.

It is on Best Buy to make a case to Samsung as well. Best Buy has already lost sales and will continue to if people can get it somewhere else sooner. That is fact.
I don't blame the managers for this situation. But given the large number of people who are being notified that their phones can be picked up today, April 20, someone in Best Buy's upper management should take responsibility for fixing the problem.He is 100% powerless. The decision to break street date is WAY above an individual store managers pay grade.
Well, I don't mind waiting, but I would like to be able to claim the $99 bundle. Hopefully there will still be one left for me...LOL

Just curious...is there anyone left in this thread who pre-ordered online (Verizon/Silver S8) with BB for delivery who hasn't either received their phone or at least got shipping notification? My frickin order status has been sitting on "Preparing" since Tuesday afternoon, with no movement, no emails from BB or shipping notices at all. I mean...Seriously...WTF? I know if I call BB and sit on hold forever, I'm just going to get a spill about tomorrow being release day, regardless of the number of folks who've received theirs already.
