Best Buy Pre-Orders

I think he saw my picture but didn't read the text. The picture shows me *just about* to receive the S8+ - before the evil POS system (and I'm not entirely sure that means 'Point of Sale' in this instances) snagged it away from me.

CSR took my order number and punched it in, but system told her not to release it today. Have to go back tomorrow.

People should know by now that you don't preorder phones from Best Buy if you absolutely want them earlier. I always say I will never order from them again not because of this only but because now I gotta spend hours at the store tomorrow as well. Thing is, they always have the best deals, $100 of is hard to pass on. S8+ for $716.

And do you honestly think it's going to be much better IF carrier stores themselves isn't releasing the phone in-store till release day. No matter where you order from, the release date is April 21. If you preordered the phone while knowing that and knowing there may as well be long lines, everyone including myself had ample time to make arrangements in our busy schedules...so we can pick up our phone.

Everyone here is upset with Best Buy instead of Samsung. Samsung is the one that dictates when we can release THEIR device.

People that ordered them online and opted for shipping most likely got them early to accommodate the promise of having the phone on or by the release date.

I am not even that mad about not getting it today, it is just a combination of things that may have me taking my business elsewhere. I find it funny in a time when they need to be flexible they are the least flexible.

It is nice to save money, but getting to the point where it isn't that worth it.

I will go in at Noon 30 tomorrow to get mine. Hopefully walk out by 12:35 PM...LOL

If mine updates to show available by tomorrow I will go ahead and grab it before work... Here is to hoping it updates!

I'm not the one upset.... I'm telling people they should know by now. Last year for my Note 7 I got the go ahead to pick it up on the release day.. Showed up only for them to tell me (after waiting 30 mins) that they didn't get enough black ones so I have to wait till more come in.... Those are the issues I've had with Best Buy all the time. I then just went into the carrier and walked out with a black one.

But Best Buy needs to talk to Samsung, because they are letting other companies release them early. Even if they are not in store. Plus they have messages online and in store call in automated system that says the items are ready.

Hopefully they let me walk out tomorrow with the phone, maybe it is just that store and I should use another one.

I may leave work for a "short" break and see if they will give it to me without having them activate it.

curious why you believe they should be flexible, especially considering it's not Best Buy who has imposed the release date.

i'm not arguing, i'm genuinely curious.

Not everyone...I'm upset with BestBuy on that latter part, because people that preordered a week into April already have their phones in hand or delivered today, while my preorder (also for shipping to home NOT in-store), which was placed within the first half-hour of preorders going live that first night, is still stuck on "processing" (online status) and/or "partially awaiting fulfillment" (automated status via phone) since Tuesday afternoon, and still no sign of shipping. Any insight on that one?

I honestly don't know.

Maybe it has something g to do with your plan etc. Did you try calling them ?

I am not really upset about that, more about the communication issues, and honestly if I would have ordered from the carrier I would have it already. It is about I can get better service from someone else so why should I use them? Is it worth $100?

They need to be flexible because business is going away from them because they are not flexible.

I am always up for a good discussion.

Lol @ people being upset for not getting the phone early. I mean who didn't see this coming lol. I'll get the phone tomorrow which is the date I expected when I ordered it. Just my thoughts. And good luck to everyone tomorrow. Hopefully, for most it's a painless and quick pick up.

It's funny how many people are "shocked" and "irtate" that best buy is releasing the phone on launch day like it's some unexpected surprise.

That's what I'm saying

Heck, I would be happy if I got my phone early too. But it'll be happy too when I get it tomorrow on the actual release day.

I know there was some glitches on emails saying the phone could be picked up today but it's only one more day lol

Like I said , if tomorrow comes and goes and I don't have my phone ... then I'll be pissed lol

I ordered an AT&T S8+ on an upgrade to an existing line. When I stopped in today and they were processing my order(until their register said they couldn't) they were definitely just going to hand it to me. They weren't going to require me to have the mobile center activate it for me.

Maybe there are regional, carrier or purchase method restrictions that necessitate in-store activation but in my case (and for every upgrade I've purchased at BB) they've simply handed me the phone and sent me on my way. I can't even count how many phones I've activated in a BB parking lot. Lol.

I'm just happy this came in today so when I go to Best Buy tomorrow I can take it right from the plastic into this baby.

I'm not even upset about the wait and lack of order status, my S7E is still snappy and great, but I'm one of those who always needs the latest.

She said 100%. No problem. Ik leaving in 10 minutes. I'll let you guys know but she insisted it's fine and I donr have to keep asking. Lol.

I hope you're right!
