Best Buy Pre-Orders

Well after 2 hours and 30 minutes i got a clueless Samsung rep. I told him all the facts of the 99$ bundle BS and since he could not help me i let him know this is the last. So i stopped at my local Sprint store and they had them for sale and i told the guy my story and he said they let pre orders out yesterday so i went to Best Buy and asked them how do i return the S8+ The wanted to know why and i told them why because of there release day crap i did not get the 99$ package it was sold out. The 1 guy working said he understood and i told them it was not them i was upset with but Best Buy and there lack of caring and helping us get them early which they could have done with asking Samsung but hey live and learn as i will NEVER get another from BB and when the Note 8 comes out which i will get ill make it my mission to inform people to stay far away from BB

Finally got mine. The only issues I had with bb is that the employee was slow and he really didn't know what he was doing. We got there at 2pm and didn't leave til 4. I probably won't go the bb route next time.

Just tell your rep you want to open it. They HAVE to activate it. They don't have to open the box, but it's recommended to assure that the activation worked properly to prevent customer disappointment when they make it home and it doesn't work.
Not true, lady was cool with me. We chatted a bit and I asked her if I would be able to open it. She said of course I would. Did my paperwork signed my name a few times and she put my phone still in the box in the bag and said enjoy!

With all due respect to the Best Buy employees who have been very helpful and informative within this thread, its clear that several of us got royally screwed by BB on this S8 preorder.

Add in that garbage of the "limited" promo (scam?) that Samsung has pulled, that was heavily advertised by all S8 pre-order outlets, that ultimately sold out even before the phone "officially" launched, and my excitement over the S8 has eroded considerably. :(

Bestbuy pulled through -- Exchanged without question. They could see it as well.

Easy and done within 15 mins :).

So I pre-ordered mine through BB. I had to pay tax and $100 voluntary deposit. I was under the impression that BB was giving me $100 for pre-ordering the S8+. Is there anywhere that I can look to confirm that this is the case? With that said it is a very nice looking phone!

No, the 100 was $100 off the total cost of the phone itself.

Does anyone know for sure if the unlocked version from Best Buy has Samsung Pay?
Previous unlocked versions that weren't from the big 4 could not be installed with Samsung Pay.

My experience was relatively good. I got there about 15 minutes early, and a few people started walking up to the door, but I waited in my car. Then a BB guy came out, and I got to the door pretty quickly. He started signing people up for scheduled times, but I said that I just wanted to pick up the phone, didn't need any help to set it up. He told me (and a couple of others) that we could just go to the Store Pickup counter and walk out the door with one, but when I went up there, they couldn't find one for me. When they finally figured out that I had pre-ordered at the store, they said that I had to go to the Mobile area.

Like heck I was going to wait for a stinking appointment, but I managed to get one of the staff members to help me straight away. Yes, they have to activate it, and so on. Total time in the store was about half an hour, and I was out the door with an activated phone. They didn't have any Samsung cases -- I wanted the Clear View Cover case (best alternative given that Samsung didn't make an S-View Cover case for the S8 or S8+), but BEST BUY DIDN'T HAVE ANY SAMSUNG CASES YET. For crying out loud. I was at a T-Mobile store about A WEEK earlier, and they had the cases in stock. So, I just went to that T-Mobile store and bought one. (Even though I don't have T-Mobile service.)

At any rate, the people at Best Buy did a relatively good job, given that the one hand didn't quite know what the other hand was doing. And they handed me a Samsung T-shirt, too, so maybe I'll wear that some day. Might check with Samsung to see if they'll pay me to wear that, given that I couldn't get their $99 promo by the time I got my hands on the phone.

So, Samsung basically gave false hopes to millions on the bundle. They should have prepared better.
And bestbuy screwed a lot of people out of it as well. This is crap. Great marketing strategy by Samsung, but poor for customer retention. I'll always stay true to Samsung, but I will be talking to my old Samsung rep about this. This is BS.

I still haven't received a notification from BB that my device is ready for pickup. At this point I have no idea what day to expect it. Any idea how I can check on the status?

Did anyone's receipt from best buy have the purchase date on it? The one they printed for me today when I picked my pre order up didn't have a purchase date. I have a feeling Samsung promo will reject it!

You got screwed by Samsung not Best Buy.

I went back to the store where the gave me the $100 off I didn't get at the time of purchase. While I was there I showed them the webpage that asked for the date of purchase that only goes to April 20th. He told me to scan the page that showed the date that I pre-ordered it. I wasn't convinced and have the same feeling you do that Samsung will reject it. Anyone else have ideas on how this will work out?

I didn't use the Samsung receipt from the store. I used the email receipt, like I did last time for the watch, that I got when I ordered it. Has the date and model of the phone I ordered with my name

Exactly. No one activated mine. They scanned the box and handed it to me. I was out in 3 mins. That simple. Got home, put my sim card on from my s7 edge like I always do, and it went straight to setup and 5 mins later I done. Still using it right now and it's the best phone I've ever had. And the battery is a beast. So happy my screen wasn't red. Not even a hint of it. Just gorgeous.

Fingerprint scanner is awesome BTW. It's easier then using the thumb in the front and I have the s8+. And it's fast as hell.

What did your emailed receipt look like? All I have is the order email from when I pre ordered.
