Best Buy Preorders?

I just returned from my closest BB and went ahead and preordered a phone.
The stafff was confused at best as to what the offers were.
I was told the $50 card for preorder would not be given to me until 48 hours after I picked up my phone, so I would not be able to use it towards the price of the phone.
They also said I could only get a total of $50 for my OG Evo. It was not a trade in AND a $50 gift card, only a $50 gift card for giving them my old phone. I thought I would get $50 for trade in , and then a $50 gift card for trade in on top of that. I will not give up my old phone for $50!
Can anyone enlighten me on the specifics of the deals?

The $50 preorder is not a gift card either, its a bar code they scan, as is the phone freedom if anyone had that. So they give you 1 gift card before the transaction is rang up, and take anywhere from 100-150 off Instantly when they hit total it packages out to that price. I had all offers and my total ended up being free. I purchased the 2 year protection for 169.99, total ended up being 169.97 I think. Only problem is it might have changed since they change promos on Sundays..
Sku 5191386 is the sku they use for the trade in. Its good till June 2nd

So I preordered yesterday online and I think that it's going to ship directly to my house. Should I expect to receive any of the above discounts? Or do you have to get the phone through the store directly?

Also, it says that it's backordered. I'm guessing that's because they haven't received any shipments in the last couple days (Sunday, holiday) and will tomorrow. I'm hoping to get it by the end of the week

You dont need a scanned copy. Just Pre order the phone and Show them the flyer on their desk that says $50 for pre order of EVO.

When picking up the phone, they have specific instructions in a Printed paper that will tell them the code to enter which will take $50 off the phone making it $150 + tax.

Now if you have registered earlier for the Phone free offer , as soon as they renew the contract, it will print a paper with barcode. Ask them to scan and it will take another $50 off..

Now if you trade in HTC EVO you get $50 + $50 which is another 50...

This was my experience with Best Buy:

Got the email on Thursday that my preorder was in stock and I could pick it up. I was leaving for the beach that night and didnt want to take my new phone with me and risk dropping it in the ocean or something. So I go to the store and they write on the preorder paper on the box 'Hold till Tuesday' and stick the phone back in the cabinet. I go there last night and I was thinking to myself 'I bet they wont have my phone'. What do you know, I go in there and theres no phone in the cabinet with my name on it. Luckily the same guy who was there when I came in on Thursday was there today and he remembered me. He gave me someones phone and said basically 'some customer is going to be pissed and yell at us and I dont want to deal with that today' so I got the guys phone. Some newer person rang me up and didnt know how to add the $50 gift card and $50 phone freedom discount so she basically said 'You cant use both offers, the computer wont let me enter them'. I said back 'I realize the computer wont let you but you still have to give me both because nowhere does it say I cant use them both'. So she calls some manager and basically just goes to the customer service desk and they give her a $50 gift card. She applied it and the other $50 to the phone so I ended up paying $112 with taxes. Took over 30 minutes to do all this.

Well, I broke down and decided to take my chances doing a pre-order at Best Buy today. It was free, so I figured 'what the hell?" I mean, if my Sprint store gets them in before Best Buy gets another shipment, I'll just cancel the Best Buy pre-order or vice versa. Took them about twenty minutes, but I have my pre-order. Now, I'm just hoping I'm one of those lucky people who get bumped up the list because someone didn't pick up their pre-order.

I'm no Best Buy apologist, but this is about 0% their fault. Blame HTC (or ultimately, the US patent system).

Pre ordered with Best buy online on the 7th. Got cancelled because they cannot process my order ( i have SERO) on Friday after going back and forth thursday and friday.

So went to the store on Friday the 25th and did a pre order. My Pre order was ready to be picked up on the monday 28th. CSR had trouble activating phone ( again because of SERO ).. So left disappointed. He did call his Sprint line , but they said, they would not be able to do anything.

Came home , called up Sprint.. Went to Store ..got the phone activated , changed the plan and switched back to my orginal plan.

Payed $150 including taxes ( $100 for the phone, $30 for buy back , $10 for Geek squad protection which I will be cancelling as this add on gave me 50% off on the Buy Back)..

Now have to return my orginal EVO back to BB and see if they give me the promised 30% of the retail price of the evo

Its the employees that are not following the Standard operating procedure, of how how to fill a pre order and then apply the code to take the $50 off for pre ordering.

They had to manually adjust the pricing on mine for 199 to 149...They might not have been trained properly but I did see detailed instructions in a print out ...

The employess may just dont care to read their updates in the morning I guess

A buddy of mine walked into BB and asked to just purchase an EVO without pre ordering and was told he had to pre order. Well he did the pre order and was trading in his Iphone 4s for a 350.00 credit. He is told they don't know when they might get more phones in. We leave and he gets out to his car and boom gets an email saying to come pick up his phone it's ready. We go back in he gets his phone didn't pay a dime for it. They matched Walmart's 148.99 price gave him 350.00 for his iphone and the 50.00 gift card. Pretty good deal I guess for not knowing when you would get your phone.

So I went in to best buy and pre-order the EVO lte. I asked about the promotions and was told I get $50 for pre-ordering and if I trade in my EVO I'll would get another $50. Since I'm just adding another line I'm keeping my EVO but asked them about the $50 promotion for signing another 2 year contract. The said getting the $50 for signing the 2 year contract was basically me trading in my EVO. I don't understand that maybe somebody here can explain it better. But here is the real kicker. I got an email 30 minutes later confirming my pre-order and 10 minutes later another email saying my order was ready for pickup. Well I was on my way home and they closed so I'll have to pick it up tomorrow.
