Best Buy Preorders?

talking to a rep on the phone right now and he says that all their employees would have been notified of a delay if there was one. still not sure this guy really knows what he's talking about though seeing as he didn't even know when the phone was supposed to be released -.- /sigh now i'm waiting for him to ask a higher up on hold lol......guy came back and told me that they should still be on schedule. i asked him when i should expect it and he said that it would be shipped "by" the 18th. i then asked him if that meant we'd have it at our doorsteps on or before the 18th? and he said that so far that's what's expected and that we could possibly receive them a day early.

Uhh, that is everywhere in the U.S.

Probably a 2:1 ratio on average based on subscribers (combining Verizon and AT&T to Sprint)......in my area the ratio is probably at least 100:1. City of 22,000 plus 15,000 military soldiers w/families and we STILL only have just a small Sprint concessionaire in the mall.

Yea, its about 5:1. Roughly 100mil each for VZW and ATT, and roughly 40mil for Sprint. But I live in an area that has roughly 1.8 million people and I don't know anyone else on Sprint :( but we do have a couple stores.

There is almost no way to know the ratio of subscribers from one network to the next within your metro.

With the reported delay of the E4GLTE I'm wondering if the EVO trade in offer from Best Buy will be dead by the time the phone shows up. If so the BB deal doesn't look as good...

It just got real...for me, that is. My Best Buy left me a voicemail stating that "The phone has been delayed for the launch. The phone is being held at US Customs due to a patent infringement. We still anticipate getting the phones into our store. We will be calling you as soon as they have arrived and are available to be picked up."

When I called back to ask if they had any idea when everything would clear up, they said it obviously depends on when everything gets situated.

At least the call ended on a high note. She told me that once everything clears up, I'd still be eligible for the $50 pre-order gift card. When I told her about my planned EVO 4G trade-in and my Phone Freedom discount, she interupted me and said: "Well then, you're definitely getting the best of the best. You'll get the EVO for free!" Time to sit back and patiently wait...

What region of the country do you live in? I called BB and the girl at the counter said that they were in transit from FedEX and should arrive today/tomorrow, they were getting 9. I of course took this with a grain of salt, but who knows.

I'm in Minnesota and haven't received a call or e-mail from my Best Buy yet. I'm second on the pre-order list.

Just spoke to a BB mobile and the rep from santana row in SJ CA said he's aware of the delay because of patent issues but can't confirm whether or not preorders will be affected. Further, he said to call back this evening or tomorrow so I can have a definitive answer. I'm really hoping the preorders will be excludes but it really sounds like all orders will be placed on hold. This really blows!! Screw iOS!!!!

I'm in the Chicagoland area...hitting up a Best Buy in the Western suburbs. They also said that preorders will be distributed in order. That's cool with me because I was the first preorder on the 7th.

Ok, my sense at least at the moment is that people with pre-orders on the west coast may have lucked out if they are pre-ordered at best buy. a friend of mine just called the BB where he pre-ordered and they told him they thought they could meet their pre-order count based on what they were receiving. Maybe ill call tomorrow night to confirm and post back

Apple knew and wanted the shipment to get held up but Sprint knew they needed it cleared before the release date but they pushed it anyway. I mean we get mad but nothing changes. HTC put a stop on all shipping orders and to wait for clearance. If Best Buy goes through with sales, I'll be happy but if they dont...whatever...I'll wait.

I am in St Louis and my BB just left me a message that I will not be getting my phone this Friday because it is being held by the US Customs.

I'm not saying your wrong but please provide facts. There are people here saying yes they will get theres from BB on Friday.

I'm only saying there is room to be cautiously optimistic. The reps that I have talked to today in so cal said that the shipments were in route. sure, this could change, we'll find out more tomorrow afternoon.

Also, if anyone in California has received one of these "your order is held up messages", please post. Me and the couple people I know here who pre-ordered have not.
