When you purchased the phone through Verizon or Best Buy you should have selected the note 8 and selected the device that you will be turning in. If it was one of the phones form the list to get 480$ max then once you receive the note 8 you will have probably 2 weeks or so to send in your old phone. Once you send it in and its verified to not be broken the 20$ credit will start...

When you pre-order through BB your don't get an option to select your trade in device, only pre-ordering directly through Verizon gives you that option. At least that's how it was when I checked the BB pre-order process last week.

From best buy page when you select the note 8 preorder. The options are upgrade or Add a line. If you select upgrade it will prompt you for a phone number, last four of social and a pin. The phone number you put in is associated to the phone that you selected to "upgrade". That is the phone you will be sending in.

I have two lines on my contract. One paid off and one not paid off. If I do the upgrade with my phone that's not paid off it tells me it is not valid for the upgrade unless I pay off the remaining 50%. When I put my other line it works no problems...

How did you go about having VZW give you this deal? I would definitely be interested in going this route over taking chances with BB

Just asked for a better deal. I do have 11 devices and my bill is over $500 a month, been with them for 20 years, so sometimes they throw me a bone.

If it's same as the Note 7 pre-orders with the carriers, customers received tracking numbers then there was no movement for over a week. Then the phones were delivered on launch day.

Yep. I am not expecting to see any movement or tracking info from BB till next week some time

My first pre-order with BB as well. But my guess is they will use whatever is available. I have done pre- orders with Verizon and i have had 3 phones pre-ordered and 2 came from fed ex and 1 from UPS

I keep getting FE warnings about slow deliveries. got two today. one would be enough. made me wonder if the BB order tripped one.

Its because of Harvey. One of FedEx's main distribution centers is in that area.

They are not specific warnings related to your order. Everyone with a fedex account gets those emails regardless of whether or not they are in the effected areas. They are just saying that Memphis had issues last night which could cause delays to you even if you are outside the area.

Memphis is a huge FedEx hub... a lot of packages go through there even if you wouldn't think they would.

Like some From Florida to Georgia go to the Memphis hub first.

Correct...Memphis takes care of a huge amount of packages. Fedex actually has 6 hubs (Memphis is the largest). They have hubs in Memphis, Newark, Indiannapolis, Fort Worth, Oakland, and Anchorage. Harvey has already had an effect on a couple of hubs. Irma might also affect Fedex's ability to deliver some packages. In the scheme of things, my phone is less important than the lives being turned upsidedown by the current hurricane situation.
