Same hereAnyone see any changes in their orders from BB?? I see the carrier threads, people are posting they're already getting some updates.
I (officially) pre-ordered on the morning of the 24th, and my order status on BB.com is still at "Processing"

Got mine ordered at BB in store.
The only problem I ran into was that they made me (or ATT made me) pay the balance due of my current device (through the NEXT plan). I chose the option of paying off and keeping my device. About $250.00.
BB is opening early on the 15th and are doing preorders by appointments.

where were you told this that they were opening early and by appointment only?? I did mine in store too, and was told I was the first to come in since preorders opened and order the phone. So I'm curious as to how they are doing preorder pickups. I've never done a phone preorder before.
A printout later in this thread appears to show you can.So has anyone gotten official confirmation if you can do both the $150 off at Best buy and do the 50% trade in for Verizon.
Verizon rep i talked to said she doesn't think you get both.
It's a gamble IMO. The trade in is a Verizon promo and when ordering thru Verizon the trade in is linked to the order, there will be no order to link from best buy. Best buy promos have always been separate of Verizon promos. I can see a lot of people getting upset when they send a phone in on a best buy order for trade in and only get market value. I've talked to several Verizon reps and they all are saying don't count on that working, it's a gamble.A printout later in this thread appears to show you can.
I don't like the trade in deal because you have to pay on the phone for the full term to get the full trade in value... I usually upgrade after 6-12 months.
Well it's a gamble I don't have to take, I got it thru Verizon. It was worth every cent of that fifty cents a month more to know it's a sure deal. And plus I know I'll get the phone on release day.I really don't think it is a gamble at all.... Best Buy is an authorized dealer and IIRC the S8 & S8+ trades went without issue.
I think the sales guy was just trying to make sure you purchased from them.
This is right off the Best Buy page:

That is the only catch, in order to get the full 50% you have to stay on the payment plan for the entire 24 months! If you pay off early you stop getting the 20$ monthly credit!! That part does suck....
So I guess I am late to the party and confused. I was going to pre-order through best buy like I have before but now I am rethinking it. Will I get the $480 trade in value applied to my bill? ($20 for 24 months) and will I be able to upgrade next year when the note 9 comes out via the Samsung annual upgrade program? (pay at least 50% of the phone off and trade in note 8). Also, if they mail it to my house how do I go about getting the $480 trade in value if my S7E from verizon? Any clarification will help! Thanks!
Ya I was confused as well. You will only get the full 480$ if you sty on the entire payment plan for the entire 24 months. WHen you buy the phone you will have the full contract price of the phone on your bill. Verizon will credit you 20$ a month for 24 months. If after 1 year you decide to upgrade the 20$ credit will stop. In essence after the 1 year you would have only gotten a 25% discount and be on the hook for the rest if you decided to pay off. It's really a 2 year agreement with them. Not quite a contract because you can pay it off at anytime but if you want the full 50% off you have to make payments for 24 months.
As for the trading up to the note 9 I'm sure there is some avenue to be able to do that but like I said you will not receive the remaining year of 20$ credits.

Best buy promos have always been separate of Verizon promos. I can see a lot of people getting upset when they send a phone in on a best buy order for trade in and only get market value. Last one I talked to got close to matching best buy promo and I for sure get the trade in promo also, I'll be paying $13 something a month for my note 8. A little more then best buy if both promos work, but I know for sure I'm getting that price in the end. I hope best buy customers get both, but it's in the air. And you won't find out if the trade in promo will or won't work before the return period is over. Verizon don't show the promo rate when you do the trade in, it shows the market value. When Verizon receives the trade in, they then link it to your order and apply the promo, this is why I personally think best buy orders will fail the promo, there's no Verizon order to link it to. Another reason is, best buy is not advertising both promos, just the $150. My thoughts, it's a big gamble, that's why I jumped on Verizon's offer last night.
