BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

mine says awaiting approval. I ordered it the day It went live at 910pm

does it say what kind of approval? credit card, cell carrier, or...? I'd be asking questions.

I don't regret not buying from Samsung directly. I've dealt with them more than once after purchase and they are not fun.

Well says authorization even though I was charged when I ordered then then the money was put back

Mine still says "Awaiting authorization" ordered on 8/24 at like 10 p.m. I just hope we get some movement at least by this Friday.

sounds like you might be shipping soon. they pre-authorize and have x number of days to process it. if they're not shipping the pre-auth goes away. you should see another auth on your cc when they get ready to ship. as long as it's approved and goes through on your cc you should be golden.

I think it is still too early to tell. I am kinda wishing i ordered from verizon but it's still only the 4th so who knows

I pre-ordered it in the store for store pick up. The only information I have to track it is a pre-order reservation print out with phone description and the SKU with an order number. Meaning - when it gets there they will email/call me.
There is also a line-item with $150 discount pointing at my phone number. Of course there is all of my information. There is also a deliver before 9/15 line I didn't notice before.

I guess I, like the rest, have to be patient.

Like I've said before, I don't think BB will hang on to the phones once they get them in. It all depends on when they get phones for each carrier.

Best Buy just responded to someone on Twitter saying they will not begin shipping until the 15th. I'm assuming the post from the person in here who posted their tracking info was just bs

no way to know for sure, but until things roll elsewhere they need to quote the party line. if they do wait to ship the online orders when everyone else has theirs, it's unlikely I'll buy from them again.

After Samsung striped my note 7 from (not) cold, (not)dead hands I ended up with an LG V20. It hasn't been a bad phone and the V30 look really nice, with a properly placed finger print sensor. I am only an occasional s-pen user, but absolutely loved the screen off memo on the note 7. Anyway, I was leaning toward the V30 for a bit, but then I remembered verizon does the new galaxy every year deal, and I like new phones so that is nice. I figured with the nice discount they are giving and the new every year that I would come back to the note. But then it dawned on me, if I upgrade to a new note 9 in a year(which I assume will not have this same type of discount on it) that I will lose the bill credit from the note 8 discount. If this is the case then the discount is really only $240, actually even less for me, since I am trading in a V20, but the wife is trading in an iPhone 7. If thats true, then I am back to wondering if the discount is worth it. Thoughts?

Yeah..I am doubting they will wait to till the 15th to ship phones. Now i think it is very possible they will be delivered on the 15th but the whole point of preorder is to have it on release date which is what they quoted on their website "Get it by Fri Sep 15th". It's not their first rodeo

I don't expect to get my Note 8 before the 15th but no big deal. I am not a big fan of best buy but the extra $150 pushed me over the edge. Don't get me wrong I am anxious to get the phone and give up this S7 Edge. They didn't even give me the option of getting it shipped to my house, have to pick up in store. Oh well, I will get thru it. I did call Verizon and told me no problem trading in my phone for the $480 Credit on the bill but will feel better when I see it on my bill. Good luck on the people getting the Note 8 early, I am envious, Enjoy.
