Weird situation for me. I ordered the phone from BB Verizon model on 9/3. This morning on the BB order status page it said "Preparing" so I called the automated system and it automatically gave me information about my order, including a UPS tracking number. I used the tracking number and it says at around 2 P.M. the package went through a "Pick Up Scan" in my city! It says the package is in my city but there are no further scans or a scheduled/estimated delivery date.

Bought it 26 hours ago. Its shipping from my city so it'll be here tomorrow. Too bad I won't be home and it looks like I can't reschedule the delivery.

It really depends on the store. However, I doubt they'll sit on them once they get to your store. Your phone will ship to the store you purchased it from, with your order info attached. You'll likely get a call within a day or so. If you know when it's been shipped, and can follow it, I'd check with the store as soon as you think it is there.They've got a huge release with the iPhone next week. If they can get you done before that, I'm sure they will. Trust what the reps tell you at your own peril. They will only tell you what they have been authorized to say. Even if that info is misleading.
When I purchased my Galaxy S7 from bestbuy, they allowed us to pick them up instore a week early because they were already shipped if ordered online. Be a little patient and most likely be able to pick it up.

store shipment has nothing to do with online shipment direct from Samsung. keep defending them, I said what I said. I preordered when the store opened on the 24th. the girl in here, that said she just preordered that already has Shipping information, defend that

Well it could be that Samsung has told stores not to sell prior to the 15 in store. Also if no other store like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint or Verizon is giving them out in store then it could be that Samsung said so maybe online orders are ok to ship but in store items are not allowed till the 15.
Still nothing about It being shipped I have the tracking but Ups hasn't picked it up I'm on the East coast so maybe I'll get mine on Thursday.
I haven't got any update on shipping yet my status still says "Preparing" its been like that for 7 hours now, i'll keep everyone updated when there's movement, I really don't understand best buy sometimes, I ordered on the first day of preorders and might be among the last ones to get it smh...
Lol, me too, you'll get your tracking info soon. My order was sitting on 'Preparing' for a couple of hours.

Same for me. I had actually ordered as soon as they opened up, 9pm here on the west coast, on the 23rd.
Mine has been sitting on preparing for stinking 9.5 hours!!!!! Come on..lol
Same, my order was in Preparing most of the afternoon. Received a text from BestBuy not long ago saying my order had shipped. Tracking info says I will receive it tomorrow.
I am excited, but I leave on a business trip to Europe on Friday. Was looking forward to getting the phone when I returned to have time to play with it and set it up. Now if I want to take it with me I am going to have to scramble. Still - very excited to receive the phone - I don't change phones very often - last new phone was 2.5 years ago (Note 4). Looking forward to the new phone.
