BestBuy: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Just got off chat with BB and this is what I was told. Ordered mine on the 9th (ATT Blue 512) as soon as the page went live.
"You will receive the phone by August 24, 2018. It will be shipped before the release date and the
shipping details including tracking number will be sent to your email.

You will be charged once you receive your order. The amount will be on hold on your account until you receive it. "
 
I placed an order for in-store pickup 12:05am, August 10th. My card was charged immediately for the taxes. The authorization was dropped Thursday and then i was alerted about a new charge later on that Thursday night. Nothing else since then. Ordered: Purple, 128, Verizon
 
Yeah, my charge never fell off. It's been sitting not even pending on my account any more. It's a full charge.
 
leave the poor customer service people alone. They are just repeating the script they were told to say. It means nothing.

I can't imagine any corporation being that stupid. C.O.D is long gone lol.

I kind of thought that too when I got that reply as to why my card hadn't been charged. I also found the by Aug 24th to be the standard answer that they send out. I hopped on chat more because last year the charge hit my card 2-3 days before anything changed on the status/shipping went out.
 
For us to get them they have to ship by Wednesday. Ugh. If they don't and I don't get it on time I am done with worst buy.

I really hope you get it on time... I have plans this weekend and I don't want the world to stop spinning or end.

And they could ship them on Thursday and you might still get it Friday.
 
I'm beginning to wish that I'd ordered through ATT since it seems that all of the ones from there are getting updated with Preparing to Ship and tracking numbers.
 
This is driving me nuts and pissing me off that Best Buy seems to have no clue. They say we will get them on Friday or After. No, it supposed to be Friday or before and it has to ship before so we can get it on time. GRRR.
 
This is exactly what happened last year with the Note 8. Every other seller shipped the phones early and people were getting them on Tuesday/Wednesday, except of course for Bestbuy. My Note 8 shipped that Wednesday with scheduled delivery on the Friday release day, which is when it showed up. So I'm guessing tomorrow we'll start getting shipping notices for Friday delivery.

I've not ordered through Best Buy before, and I've heard this type of delay seems common with them. Hopefully you get tracking updates asap.

I see it every time with best buy. Let's not forget, they are getting $100 off the price of phone. Every time I go to order a preorder, I decide if I want the phone earlier or take the discount and get it later. Launch date isn't even here yet.
 
I regret not doing a preorder online, having it shipped to me. I must have blocked last year out, but as it comes back to me I am filled with dread. They schedule pickups, but I have a narrow window that day and need to get there when they open. (Last year, they wouldn't get me in until much later in the day.) To be fair, zero setup needed on their end for me just the actual transaction/signatures.

What I hate most is, despite having two printed order confirmations, I only received one order agreement via email. Why just one? Ugh. I'll be so mad if both aren't on preorder (only way to get the freebie). I'm realizing now if I did it online myself, I'd have more confidence it was complete and have something to check/track. Maybe I'll remember this next year. (Or ... maybe not.)

The $50 off was the main reason I went with BestBuy. I miss when they'd offer whatever the promotion is in hand, vs. the mail in rebate from Samsung. My 256GB SD card was in hand when I picked up my new phone, which was a big incentive to buy there.
 
I have gone thru BB before, Had mixed experiences. Some good, Some very frustrating. The BB staff were very helpful during the Note 7 mess, I have found that the wait time can be long and now that these are scheduled, I don't have the flexibility to do that (also I have found that the availability/shipping to store for pre-ordered devices can somewhat unpredictable). My last 2 phones I have ordered thru carrier and had it shipped.

I just talked to best buy to a real nice lady. She said they have till the 24th to have it in my hands. We should see something by tomorrow. But she did say technically they have till Thursday with next day shipping. But we are supposed to have them in our hands on the 24th. She heard but never got a concrete answer that there maybe shipping delays. I hope not. That will end it for them.
