BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

Update from my best buy. Got all 4 but not without an hour hassle. My white had a verification glitch and that's why I didn't get my info or email. But finally got it fixed after an hour. They had 54 pre-orders but only got 44 phones. Plenty of mad people. Seemed like pink was the issue color. They were expecting another shipment today but said Samsung wasn't prepared. They didn't allocate enough to best buy.

Wow! My store had 100 pre-orders they told me yesterday so they are going to be really busy today And yes Pink is the issue color I am stuck waiting. I got an unlocked Plus
 
Are you all able to see your orders in your BB account? I can't see mine there, even if I search for the order number
 
Well, is it BB or Samsung not getting them the phones in time?
Then how is it that TMO, Verizon, ATT, and Sprint all seem to have their phones out and shipped for everyone but late orders? Why is BB the only one with such a complete fuster cluck? Why does this seem to happen each time to BB? Don't think this one is on Samsung, and believe me, I'm no Samsung fanboy, but this one doesn't seem to belong to Samsung.
 
How did they figure out it won't be here today officially? The phone manager at the store, I think just trying to placate me, said she knows they are getting several shipments through the day.

I know I pre-ordered on the 22nd and was told it would be in on the 8th though my pre-order paper and online order says we will email you when in. Why didn't they tell me when I pre-ordered oh the pink is really popular it doesn't state you will get it on the 8th want to see what another color says? I was also told they will get several shipments in today. I only went through Best Buy cause they will take my phone and do the trade in and I don't have to mail in to Samsung like my husband does. But they should compensate people for having to wait like give us a case or something. LOL!
 
When I call my store I get sent to a call center but if I ask to get transferred to the actual mobile department at my store they will transfer me. But after yesterday being told they have a 100 pre-orders I am not counting on anyone answering. The store actually gave me a card with their direct extension number and I lost it. I'm just off today and it would be nice to have it come in even if it's at 7 or 8 tonight I would go get it But I still need to take out my sd card and transfer my external pics and videos to my PC since my card and phone are full. I just haven't done it yet I spend all my time here. LOL!
 
The online Verizon rep says she can guaranteed have one shipped to me arriving tomorrow. So she says. I'm half tempted to cancel my BB order and go with that. Only downside is that they only offer $200 trade in.

I just had this conversation with the best buy I was supposed to pick mine up. I said I could have gotten mine early from verizon. She goes samsung gets first dibs the carriers are considered 2nd party so they get priority. Then best buy is 3rd party si they get left overs. They told me the only phones they got in today for preorder were black
 
My local Verizon store apparently has 17 black 128 S10+'s in stock. Maybe I'll just cancel my BB order
 
The lady that helped me had 2 phones that the customer couldn't get cause they had a flight to Japan and wouldnt make it back for 2 weeks. Well problem is I need Verizon and they were att. The Manager came over and goes do you want to cancel I said no cause I will lose the promotion. She offered me a 25 credit towards accessories. She said due to ordering online she has no way to track it

Best buy is the only option for those of us that want to buy Verizon devices at full price. When the pixel 3 came out every no Verizon store would sell it to me. I was so confused why they didn't want my 900 cash ??????
 
Well this is very discouraging.. Here's a post I just read on BB forums:

"Pre ordered my Galaxy S10 Plus along with 2 for my parents. They received theirs a day before release in TN. I'm in NYC and got a notice at 11:32 PM last night that my order has been delayed until possibly April!!! The only thing customer service could tell me is that it hasn't even shipped yet. I'm livid! There has been no update. This was suposed to be delivered TODAY! WHAT IS GOING ON! "
 
I have been reading these boards for the duration of the pre-sale period. I'm on the east coast. I ordered a white S10+. I had an appt set for 10am today. Got to my appt to be informed that my phone wasn't in. 3 other people were told the same thing. I can't switch to the blue, of which they had in stock, because it would nullify my pre-order. I can't really use the head phones as they aren't allowed where I work. The manager told me that they will make it right when I come back, even though they can't predict when it will come in. I have a perfectly good paid off S8 Note. Anyway.....I'm not sweating it. And no matter what happens, I will order from BB again in the future unless Sprint starts giving away Samsung Tvs again (I got 2 last time :)).

I know I've been in this thread a lot saying I told you so, but I never went into details about my 2 disaster experiences with my Best Buy phone pre-orders.

What you just posted is exactly what I expected to hear today. In my experiences, there were tons of people walking around in the store saying "what do you mean you don't have my phone?".

Ever since that experience, I have never used them again and I can't be happier. The last several Samsung releases I pre-ordered from AT&T and this time directly from Samsung. In both cases I've gotten my phone delivered to my door at least 2 days before release date. No headaches, no hassle, no driving to a store.

What you people are finding out and what I've known for a while is that Best Buy always over promises and under delivers. They are all about selling as many phones as they can even though they won't get in enough to cover the pre-orders. I think that's why they often offer the sweetest pre-order deals. They want to hook as many people as they can in. Then they string you along with no status updates or vague status updates until the day the phone releases. Then on that day they are like "sorry, we don't have your phone". The worst is they have no idea when it will come in either.

To put it simply, Best Buy has a very broken system and I encourage everyone to vote with their wallets and never use them again.
