Beta 4 arrived

Eric, my "chat features" screen is quite different. It doesn't have anything about verifying the phone number. Could that be something your service provider adds? Below "Show typing indicators" I have two other items: Resend mesgs if undelivered & Auto-download files....
Yeah, that's weird I suppose. I don't know if it's a Verizon thing or not. I'm still messing around with that feature but yeah.

Beta 4 is running so much better for me then beta 3. The OS feels way smoother on my 2XL.

The gesture to go back is working night and day better. Swiping up from the bottom slowly and I can easily get to my recently used apps now. I was having all kinds of problems with this in beta 3 and it's functioning flawlessly now.

Yeah it does feel smoother

So I spent all evening logging back into my apps. I am glad I factory reset. Everything is running much smoother. It is a new phone anyway so the bugs were from the betas, but I had used adb for a few things on beta 3. Thinking that broke something. But screenshots are working and several of my broken apps are working now. Like my cctv app and fingerprint login for my bank (which stopped working in beta 3).

Haven't installed a third party launcher back onto it. Kind of gotten used to pixel launcher again and enjoying it.

Yes I'm reading about that on Android police.com and Android central.com. My future brother-in-law is having issues downloading the OTA update for pixel 3.

Interesting issue here. I'm running Eset mobile security on my Pixel 3. After installing beta 4 last night the security app keeps telling me I have a security issue in that I am connected to an open network. I am not. My home router uses WPA - 2 security. No error message before installing beta 4 so it has to be a bug. Other phones in the house using the same security and connected to the router show no such problem. On the Pixel 3, I have it set to not connect to open networks in any event. I've opened a case with eset to see what they say. They promise a reply within 24 hours. There are no saved networks besides my home network. All my neighbors have secured networks and there are no open networks within range of my house. Interesting.

Looks like they paused the Beta 4 for the time being..

"We're aware of an issue with Android Q Beta 4 related to installing updates. We've temporarily paused Beta 4 OTA updates to all Pixel devices as we investigate the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience, and will provide an update once the issue is resolved."

That's interesting, mine updated without a hiccup and running very smoothly. Wonder once the update rolls out the people who already got the update will get this also , I'm assuming yes.

I'm on a Pixel 2 XL also haven't had any issues with the update. Running much better then beta 3.

I should note that the only thing I've noticed in my 2XL is that when I reboot the phone I get a message that the Phone app has stopped working. Once it's booted the phone app see a to be working normally though.

I got that before I factory reset. P2XL
