Bionic 9/1 release date?

Just went to Droid Life and read the original document. The 9/1 was one sentence.
Also no other article anywhere about it.
No update on 8/4 post.
Nothing.
What does this mean?
I don't know but it does reduce my stress level over this 9/1 thing

This is clearly wrong for so many reasons:

1.) The current revision of the Bionic has passed the FCC, therefore it is probably close to finalized hardware
2.) Verizon/Motorola would never dare to release such a high profile phone so close to the iPhone 5/4S announcement date for fear of lost sales.
3.) The dates 7/28 and 8/4 were leaked along with the 7/7 and 7/14 dates for the Droid 3 which turned out to be correct.
4.) Motorola has said time and time again that the phone will be released this summer, a sales period typically ending in August for retailers.
5.) Unbelievable hype; at this point a delay would severely hurt sales as most people who bought the original Droid are up for an upgrade soon and are worried about an end to the grandfathering of unlimited data plans.

Overall, a delay means a huge hit for Motorola so I highly doubt they would risk it.

And what manufacturer wants to release a phone the same time as another superphone? That's plain dumb it will result in less sales even if the phone is better so I'm not buying that idea.

You should see all the people defending kellex on dl I asked where he got the info and wouldnt say. Usually kellex is right but lately he has been acting strang and seems like he hates everything that isn't the gs2. Guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Yeah I didn't say to take this information to the bank when I created this thread, I just wanted everyone to know, just in case it did end up being true. I'll agree that Kellex does seem to hate on anything that's not a GS2, and I think he is one of the big reasons why everyone hates on pentile so much. Once Kellex said they were the worst screens ever, everyone started saying the same thing. I don't mind the pentile screens at all, and actually think that the Super Amoled screens are very dark and oversaturated.

Agree he started the anti pentile and blur debate and now all those who follow him blindly are no better than isheep. It really is sad how much android users bash eachother over what phone one chooses. Why cant people just be unbiased and look at each phone and give it an hhonest review aand not base it off something that has been dramatically changed(I.e. blur) look how many people say the new blur sucks and they never even tried it.

Definitely agree with you on the pentile thing, many other news outlets had minor gripes about it but the majority liked the resolution qHD provided regardless of supposed pixilation. I've seen the X2 and while I wasn't blown away by the quality of the screen, it was not the deal-breaker Kellex made it out to be (that honor goes to horrible management of the lowly 512MB of RAM found in the phone).

I agree. I have not had the chance to use the new blur, but the droid 3 videos have me stoked to use it. I was blown away by how clean and smooth it looked. And that dynamic contacts widget looks amazing! I am personally a huge fan of what moto has done with android

I just spoke with the Manager of the Costco kiosk and he said he has been hearing from corporate they would have the Bionic on August 4th.

The droid3 is 3g so it isnt a flagship phone. releasing d3 and bionic a month apart wont hurt moto as much as releasing it in september unless they're trying to go toe-2-toe with iphone5 and sam gs2. im awaiting bionic only cuz i like moto phones. htc just doesnt do it for me.. my personal opinion. i did try the droid charge in the store and the screen is amazing and phone is fast. might pick one up off craigslist or ebay if they keep delaying bionic as rumored and sell it back when bionic comes out. But my upgrade is waiting on bionic. c'mon moto release it early aug so i dont have to buy a d-charge

This coming from the guy who bashes moto without even trying it based on some random videos you say you saw. I have no brand loyalty I go for what phone fits me the best but for you to come onto a moto forum when you have made it clear you are getting the function makes it quite ironic and laughable at your remarks. Not to mention he made the site to cash in on the $$$ since at that time there were and still are relatively few dedicated android sites. Just saying.

one of my biggest reasons for waiting on the bionic is because for some reason samsung refuses to put a notification light on there phones. This is my most useful and relied upon feature on my OGD. There is a lot to be said about being able to check your message status by simply glancing at your sleeping phone from across the room. I know there is flashnotify and other apps that offer this but they flash the whole screen. Not to mention my gf's fascinate gets terrible reception compared to my moto.

Here's to hoping the bionic will be here before the droid 4 releases.
