the article just quotes 2 unnamed sources, and does not specifically refer to the tweets. Kellex also says that sources reported "last weekend" (June 18) about the revision... an article from Kellex the next day refers to the tweets, and his 2 sources: Motorola Mentions DROID Bionic and Set of “New Updates” on Twitter - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
Thanks husker. Sorry for the outburst. Big companies piss me off when they just copy and paste the same tweet over and over again. I understand why they do it, but it infuriates me. Hire a god damn intern to handle social media marketing, and give your customers real responses.

i don't think Moto is going to allow any interns to handle social media marketing anymore; not after last year's gaffe when some Moto person tweeted about the locked bootloader issue, and basically said, "if you don't like it, buy somewhere else". that one turned out veeeerrrry badly for Moto... LOL

Moto needs seriously to get off it's butt and get this phone released! These delays are hurting it if this chart has a lick of accurate sampling in it.
Mid July? Um.. not from what I've been seeing on the Bionic.. Though Kellex does bring up some rather interesting points about bias in this little infographic - as well as some inaccuracies. Still, I really want to see Moto compete!!

The chart is also not very representative of real-world scenarios, though. The Galaxy SII is reportedly coming to all four carriers while the Bionic is only coming to Verizon (at least that we know so far). That alone is a big thing considering not many people will be switching carriers for one specific phone.
Still, the Bionic is definitely behind its time in terms of hype and market strength - Moto is seriously failing to give us concrete information on it, information that could boost interest on the device to what it was before April. Either they've got their foot up their ass, or they're keeping their tech very secret as to not tip off on some amazing next-gen feature they're implementing.
I think what Moto is doing is comparable to what Apple is doing. "Oh, hey, iPhone5, there it is. Just a name". And people would still sit in line for three days, even if were a brick with a cup and a string glued to it. Moto doesn't seem to realize, though, that they just don't have a big enough flock of sheep to pull the same **** off.

According to what Kellex wrote - it's not.
Not denying the fact that Galaxy II will be a great device.
I've been a hard-core Moto fan through thick and thin for the whole time I've carried my first cell phone (StarTac 7600). Moto makes it hard to be a fan at times....

Well the waiting got ALOT easier. I have a OG Droid from work, my upgrade was due in Jan and i am keeping it for the Bionic (I help out end users with smart phones, setting up mail). Well My Droid was on it's last leg for a while now. Another employee went behind my boss and my back and ordered a Droid Charge for his replacement (Company only sticks with moto phones as not to have too many different devices to support) Well he over heard my boss and I are waiting for this Bionic and what a powerhouse it will be and decided to ditch the charge in favor for keeping his upgrade and the phone guy at work sat on the phone for too long and now has to keep it. Well I ran it through the channels and can port my number to the Charge for a couple months until the Bionic comes out!

nah I dont put much weight on those types of things. It is obvious though that the Galaxy SII is going to be HUGE hit in the US.

Yeah, I agree that July sounds like fantasy. Just throwing out who said what. June was DroidX2, July will be Verizon's D3 launch. But, please please god, let them get the Bionic out a few weeks before the iPhone5. Those people know how to suck the wind out of any other phone's conversation with megabucks in advertising as well as intense investor interest AND general media hype.
Agree if they dont release this phone before the iphone they can all but kiss most of their sales away. I would never get an iphone but there are a ton of people who when they can upgrade will get the first thing that is out and the way the bionic is going it isnt looking good for moto.
Rumors will probably be circulating of the iPhone 5 release by the time the Bionic gets released. That's enough to kill sales. The longer this goes on the worse its getting for them.
