Now, you know I like ya, but that's not true. When it was revealed that wnrussell over at HoFo said the original Bionic (Etna) was going to be cancelled, BMX countered by flat out stating that there was no way in hell it was going to be cancelled and we all know how that turned out. Just sayin'.

You have to put his comment in context though. It was mentioned that it might be cancelled and he initially said that there would be no way that Verizon would do that -- too much invested, etc. As the rumor grew more legs, he later said he'd look into it more 'cause he hadn't heard anything about it. After looking into it, he then conceded it to be true. With that, I don't consider what he said initially to not be true. He was just responding as many of us do in these forums, i.e., what he initially stated was just his opinion. Now, when he presents facts as opposed to his opinions, I never doubt him.

Of course, in the end, it wasn't cancelled.

i can't believe the patience you have with all these phone rumors, and an upgrade sitting in your pocket for, what, 8 months now?! i'm really hoping Moto doesn't blow it with the Targa - i've pretty much locked in my sights on it (unless the Nexus 3 drops on VZW)... all objective facts would indicate that the GS2 is gonna be a monster; but, for some reason, i'm just not nearly as excited about that phone as i am the Targa.

Yeah 9 months sitting on an upgrade. I just can't pull the trigger on just any phone because I'm bored and want something new. When I upgrade it will be well worth it to me. With the current and upcoming releases I'm just not satisfied. GS2 is at the top of my list and the Bionic will have to unseat it. Thats where I'm at. I'm fully prepared to pass if the Bionic is a letdown. I know how fast the 'newness' factor wears off so I'm not just going to purchase anything.

I don't care about tiered pricing or long waits i'm in it to win it baby..... lol

Regarding the above tweet from BMX: Winston25, a reliable and respected source over at HoFo, just posted that if BMX is referring to the Targa (aka new Bionic) then he is off. Don't shoot the messenger, just reporting what I've read.

I wouldn't be suprised if he was off a little, in order to keep his job and not leak the actual specs. We might have to read in between the lines on this and just hope that it comes close to being around the spec mentioned.

No battle here. HoFo trumps ANY info out there when it comes to Moto no matter where it comes from. Engadget, gizmodo, droid-life it doesnt matter. This is not opinion this is fact.

Like I was saying oxn, blackmanns timing was bad. It was misleading plain and simple. Not saying it was intentionally done either but you can't say you have requested a test unit then tweet something like that a short time later.

Why don't we all just wait for BMX to come on to confirm it as the actual specs or say it is the specs of another.. I am tired of all the Speculation!!!! I went straight to the source now I am waiting for him to reply.

I would not go that far.

Bottom line is that it was forum posters here who assumed he was talking about the Boinic and never did he say it was. Winston only said what BMX posted wasn't the Boinic/Targa.

All that can be safely assumed is he's testing a phone that is very nice but he never disclosed exactly what it is. He also hasn't said he has the Boinic just yet, only that he was getting one once he returned from vacation.

When he has been wrong, it was when a situation developed very quickly and he wasn't completely in that loop - which is nothing to fault him on. Unlike the other leakers he does seem to try to have fun with it - more power to him.

We're so desperate for information on this darn thing the we go nuts over the slightest whisper.

Moto would do well if they would at least engage a little bit on this. Throw us a bone for cryin' out loud!

I appreciate any info I can get, if its off a little its better than no Info. If its even off. I don't follow anyone's info to be Gospel, including the Guys at HOFO. They know what they know at the time that they know it, does that make sense? All I can say about the guys at HOFO is they seem to wait things out longer to risk loosing credibility.

Man how quick we turn on people the other day some of you were praising and thanking BMX now some of you are attacking him.. If the guys at HOFO did the same thing would you guys attack them too. This is just a Smart phone!!! And some of us have been acting like ravage dogs looking for a bone... A Lot of you guys just need to chill and wait!!!! This thread hasn't gone off the rails. I haven't seen anyone attacking others or any kind of fighting. We are having a spirited debate. I think EVERYONE has been quite civil to eachother.

Now back on topic....still no info on the bionic and I personally don't expect to hear anything until the other Motos are out the door (D3 DX2)
