Gapi the only negative impact WebTop will have on the Bionic is how smooth and fast it performs. Try out an Atrix for a bit and then check out some GS2 videos and you will understand what I'm saying. There is a noticeable difference in speed and smoothness. Use an iPhone and then the Atrix and you will "feel" the difference.

The Bionic will be a great device. It will do everything you need it to do and it will do it well but for me this difference in "feel" and performance is something i don't want to deal with anymore. My ideal Android handset will be as smooth as the iPhone and the GS2 delivers that (from the many videos )

From what you said I think the Bionic will be great for you. Its worth the wait for sure. I don't want you to think I'm saying the Bionic will be a bad device. I can't speak for anyone else but I think the really hardcore users want a butter smooth experience and WebTop throws a pretty big wrench into that equation.

Because one phone isn't "smooth", and a totally different phone, by a different manufacturer, that hasn't been released yet does run "smooth", it must be that any and all phones that are released with webtop in the future will be the same as the Atrix? Do us a favor and stop jumping to conclusions so quickly, it is seriously spreading some weak rumors around. This is like the time you said the Bionic was now the Targa, which was never proven, now it's said to be something else. Could be anyone's guess, but it's just that, a guess. At least don't state all your opinions/assumptions as fact. It's getting ridiculous.

Ck have you played with the Atrix after the recent update?

I am okay with webtop, won't use it but I am sure anything will crush this Storm 2 for performance.

Exactly...we can discuss this like adults and if your findings are different I'd love to hear them. I just go by what I personally observe. Don't get angry and ugly because you disagree we me. Lets discuss this I'm certainly open to hearing what others observe with the WebTop enviroment.

As far as CK vs BMX is concerned, who cares? All scientists and doctors of the world do not always agree, but they still have something to bring to the table. We should be appreciative of anything they bring our way. Otherwise we wouldnt even care about the bionic and it would drop off into obscurity. Besides, this shouldnt be the first time we have had to wait for a retooling. It happens all the time in life. Video game consoles, the games, movies, books, music, cars, all of which almost always have revisions before release. Moto is no exception. They probably realized at a 'go, no go' meeting that they have a product that is no longer relevant with the phones of now and near future. I don't blame them, they are a business. They are driven by reputation and profit. Them holding things back is a bonus for us just as much as a face saving move for them. Sometimes, I feel people need to take some business classes or even econ 101 before blasting others and corporations. Not to offend but if this opinion makes you upset, welcome to corporate America.

You never know whats behind the CES show thing. Heck, they could have pulled a fake-out to bring the competition out into the open.

from what i recall, at CES the Bionic was still extremely unpolished - it didn't have a launcher, no app drawer, and something else that i can't remember. from the various forum threads, i remember everyone commenting how they thought that the Bionic was still months away from release, and how surprised they were that Moto was promising Q2. as it turns out, it looks like Moto stepped in it, and i'm as disappointed as the next person.

as for the Atrix, if it wasn't a sister phone to the Bionic, they were certainly kissing cousins. why the Atrix was capable of an on-time launch, but not the Bionic, that is beyond me. my guess (and it's purely that) is that it has something to do with at&t's vs. vzw's networks...

The phone didn't hit Verizon's testing crew on a wide scale until mid-February beginning of March. The problems wouldn't have started cropping up until the device reached their hands. (which is the point of real world testing) Motorola and Verizon obviously didn't think that whatever issues they had would cause the handset's cancelation (since the phone wasn't to the point where they knew that), so they decided to show it off.

Funny and I know this happens all the time and I do not put any stock in it at all. I called Verizon because I was moving phones around on my lines and he asked if I had any more questions. So I asked if he had any official or unofficial news concerning the Bionic. He said all he knew is that it is supposed to be released by the end of the month.

Definitely not happening...probably thought you were talking about another phone...or he didn't hear about the delay...
