I thought they scrapped the original for "improvements". It seems like some things have taken a step back possibly. So the improvements are more ram (which half is used for webtop), webtop, and the processor actually works on handoffs
Did they improve the ffc?
I hear the LTE chip for the Bionic is from VIA Technologies, not Qualcomm.
VIA doesn't build an LTE chip. And Verizon hasn't approved any other chips than the Samsung, Qualcomm and LG chips..
I believe Motorola does not use Qualcomm chips because Sanjay used to work there.
Wrong. Droid X, X2 and Droid 2 use TIMaybe, except there is a Qualcomm chip in the Atrix, Droid X, Droid X2, Droid 2, etc

We probably wont get a clear pic for at least another couple weeks. That seems to be the trend for leaked photos
Wow. How wrong was I? This was from 5-20 mins before those photos showed up
Correct, the processor and baseband are two different things. He is correct that they use Qualcomm for the CDMA processors. My original comment was to illustrate that Motorola does not use Qualcomm for application processors. I wouldn't be surprised if Motorola weren't working on their OWN CPU chip. Sanjay marvelled at how Samsung is vertically integrated. This debacle with the Bionic may have them working on that, either through development or acquisition. BTW, I tried a Samsung Charge for 13 days. Awesome device, HORRIBLE battery life (not as bad as TB) and it runs HOT. I mean REAL HOT. Can't wait for BIONIC.The processor and baseband are two different chips and different manufacturers. While TI provides the CPU, Qualcomm provides the CDMA radio chipset.

Wow - why does everyone state unequivocally that half the RAM is exclusive to WebTop. I have yet to have anyone provide concrete evidence to support that claim.
CK provided a link, which I believe was earlier in this thread. And I think the link was to XDA Developers site. Basically, my understanding is that what they found with the Atrix was that the WebTop OS was running all the time regardless of whether you were using it or not; thus, taking up resources that may be better served for other purposes. And the fact that you couldn't unload it or prevent it from loading, particularly if WebTop was not being used (or would ever be used), seemed to be a waste. If I'm wrong on that, someone please correct me.
