I know its a hot topic, but enough is enough. It happens when it happens and if you don't like it go to MetroPCS, they have unlimited data. If you think you can get grandfathered then do that.

Would I like unlimited data, yes. Will I buy a phone just to get "unlimited" data, no. I can use wifi enough to keep my data under 2 gb a month, so I might end up paying less with tiered data.

Now this is a surprising bit of information that just landed in our inbox as well as many Verizon customers. Big Red has sent out an email to selected Verizon customers informing them that they are entitled to a whopping $150 discount on the purchase of the HTC Thunderbolt 4G.

The extra savings puts the HTC Thunderbolt 4G price tag to just $100 (normally $250). Dubbed a "loyalty discount", we're guessing that even if you didn't receive the email you can try and convince a Verizon employee if your account is in good standing now that you know this deal is out there.

On a side note, and this is pure speculation of course, could Verizon be clearing out its HTC Thunderbolt inventory for its summer line up?

Funny thing is that I got the loyalty discount info like last week. I'm surprised that it took that long for any blogs to do an article on it. I'd pick a bolt up for $100 if the return policy at Verizon came close to Costco's.

I'm going to be able to use one upgrade, buy the bolt next week and then return it if the bionic or SGSII come out for verizon before the start of September.

I think the big news that Oxn was referring to is that Motorola Mobility has been purchased by Apple and they will be releasing the iBionic in late August.
