Bug Tracker & Solution Finder

Every time I wake up, the phone is at somewhere between 95-98% it appears. I just unplug and replug until it gets to 100%. Sometimes you will miss it if you wait to long, and it will reach 100% and begin discharging again. But every time you unplug and replug, it gets to 100%. At least for me it does.

Brandon

yeah, it'll be at 99% and then I unplug/replug till it gets to 100% then I unplug and go on with my day.. I tried it again last night leaving the screen off and it still did it. tonight I think I'll try just leaving it idle (no streaming music w/ screen off) and see if it still does it. Coming from the Incredible I'm all too familiar with the bump charge but this is a slightly different issue and more a not completing the charge. might need to do a few more full charge discharge cycles to calibrate the battery again. thanks

I thought with these newer batteries you didn't need to do that?

yes and no.. newer batteries don't have memory effect where they lose capacity over time and without a specific calibration have a shortened life span. But the general rule I've seen especially around Android forums is to do 1-3 full charge/discharge cycles to "calibrate" the battery and the OS to know what 100% and 0% really are so it displays correctly. initially I was 6-8 hours but now I get 16-20 of course a lot of that was "New Toy" syndrome where I couldn't put it down. :) Anyways, I've just always read everyone doing that around here so I went with it. deleting the Battery Stat file and then doing these charge/discharge cycles is worth a try for anyone with bad battery life.. of course there could be other factors at play like the phone never sleeping cause it's constantly looking for signal or out right a dud battery!

1. Place call using skype, call connected to VM, screen off and could never get the screen back to end the call or input digits. I had to reset the phone.
I have the same issue when placing regular calls, the screen goes off and could not turn it on to enter digits or go speaker, etc...
2. none of the ringtones are loud enough to be able to hear the phone while in my handbag or in a deep pocket

I have a different Skype problem, the video skype only works in landscape mode?is there any way to make it work in portrait mode?

Thanks everyone in advance

Under - "My Apps" in the Market on Phone & Desktop it shows that I have Google Earth, but I never installed it, and I don't see it in my App Drawer, or under Settings>Apps or App Drawer... can't access it or open it..

Had the same issue. Fixed with a factory reset.

did you have it installed on your previous phone? if so it just restored itself when you signed in.

Streaming music through Google Music or Audiogalaxy crackles when the screen goes dark. Someone else suggested overclocking to solve this issue, but its still quite disappointing that the stock Nexus behaves so badly.

I've noticed the same with the SiruisXM app, though it doesn't happen consistently. I havent been able to figure out what the trigger is.

Apologies if this has been posted already but I did a couple thread searches and didn't turn up anything.

My downloaded photos are nearly all out of order. It seems that if I save a photo from an email, it sorts it properly (i.e. in the order that I downloaded it). Some from the internet sort by the date the image was created (months or years ago). It seems like all I download from texts or manually moved from my last phone to this one when I got it are labeled as Dec 31, 1969 at 6:59:59 PM. When I save one from there, it gets arbitrarily placed in the middle of all the rest of the '69s. What the flying ?

So, basically, none of my downloaded photos are in any usable order and it's extremely frustrating.

FWIW, all the camera photos transferred from my last phone are in the correct order and are being added to in a logical manner.

Thanks!

Two bugs I noticed, searched the forum and didn't (easily) find them, so apologies if they are already stated.

1) When dialing voicemail, the number dialer doesn't automatically pop up to enter your voicemail number with. This is wicked annoying.

2) Auto correction stops working when you backspace through a word that is already typed. For example I type "I love tomatto" and then I backspace to delete the extra "t", it doesn't offer up anymore word possibilities or spelling fixes.

My battery is draining overnight. By default it connects to wifi even when it sleeps, and I believe thats the way it should be. Any thoughts?

I have had issues using the dial pad when using the stock headset on a phone call. I'm using it on a conference call and have to put in a pin to get in to the call. I'm putting the correct numbers in on the dial pad and they are showing correctly, but the phone is reading in different numbers and even repeats a different number that I dialed. I can take the headset out and dial the correct number with no problem.

I opened a ticket with Verizon on this, and said to go to Samsung product team to look into as well. The tech was able to confirm the problem on his Nexus as well. We found out that the speakerphone was the problem as it was interfering, or adding additional tones after you depress a number,

You mentioned the speakerphone. This even interferes with the headset as well?

Happened to me twice. Thought it might be an app i installed. Heard some talk about zedge causing issues.ill know soin if that was the cause.. remain stock only had phone 24 hours thus far

I'm not sure if this counts as a "bug" (especially because it happened on my Thunderbolt and both Galaxy Nexus devices I've had), but something I find slightly annoying is, I frequently get duplicate notifications, usually about text messages. For instance, last night, I was texting back and forth, and I cleared my notifications shortly before shutting my phone down. This morning, I powered it back on, and I got notifications for the same texts I had gotten last night.

When I was on the Thunderbolt, I was using Handcent, so I was thinking this was an issue with Handcent. But I've been using stock messaging on the Nexus, and it still happens.

Anyone notice that images 'set as wallpaper' from the gallery program do not fill the screen? ICS seems to have this nice crop and 'set as' functionality built in and it goes through the motions of working but the resulting wallpaper is either black or just a thumbnail of the image you selected. Its as if the 'stretch' to fill screen functionality is missing.

Update:

Downloading the image using the Firefox browser and accessing the image from the download menu within Firefox gives you the same 'Set As' functionality as that within the Gallery app. In fact it looks to be the same app but just accessed via Firefox. However, it works as intended and sets an image which fills the entire screen.

This is obviously an ICS bug I'm just not sure where to report it.

I think this is a Verizon issue in general. Seems to happen to me a lot when I'm in a rural area bouncing between cell phone towers.

I can think of 2 things to try.

1. Sometimes an app goes nuts and wont shut itself down, draining you battery. The most certain way to resolve this is to do a battery pull. It's old school, but works if that's your problem.

2. Some app that you have is in a never ending (typically useless) data exchange. One thing you can check is go to settings, data usage, and scroll down to see if any apps are have crazy high numbers beside them (for me, it's Google+). If so, you can set that app to Restrict Background Data. Before you can do that, you have to Set Mobile Data Limit at the top of the screen. Check that box, then set your overall data limit to whatever you want, then go to the offending app, click it and scroll to the bottom where you can check Restrict Background Data.

2) Auto correction stops working when you backspace through a word that is already typed. For example I type "I love tomatto" and then I backspace to delete the extra "t", it doesn't offer up anymore word possibilities or spelling fixes.

If you are already correcting the spelling, why do you need autocorrection to chime in? ;)
