Bugless Beast Froyo release!

I just installed the update, and all went well. I didnt wipe data and cache. Aside from re-theming (NexBeast) and re-overclocking (1.1gHz P3 kernal) this couldn't be easier. I like BB, and even though it might not be the BIGGEST update, I appreciate it. Well and I just couldn't wait. Awesome work Pete!

is it just me or has one of the best features in froyo the sync broken. i always do a full wipe. and i cant get this bad boy to sync at all. to bad but i cant run this so much for bugless beast.

any of my of my apps or data screw it. its a wide spread issue the thread over at df is huge already. im just going back to my backup until he fixes this

no issues here. Came from v0.1 with no data/cache wipe.

That's the problem if you come from other roms and wipe the stock sync is jacked to much of a headache to deal with now. I'm spoiled by Froyo

Re: Bugless Beast Froyo Release!

I switched from Ultimate Droid (Froyo) tonight flawlessly. Reinstalled jdlfg 1.2 GHz Froyo kernel and am FLYING. Love this! Can't believe what I used to use before rooting!

On a side note, any fellow overclockers know when to really tone it down as far as battery temp? Mine is @ 100.4? F right now...

I have SetCPU to trip its temp profile at 50 deg. C and UC to 500mhz. (I use CPU temp instead of battery, though, if it matters).

Hate to be that guy, but is there an easy way to re-enable location services? Preferably one that does it at boot.

Other than that problem--it kind of hurts not being able to use GPS at all--this is fantastic! Keep up the good work.

EDIT: Herp derp, right there in the settings. How did I miss that. On a related note, anybody having trouble with GPS?

BB new v0.2 Froyo

I loaded up Bugless Beast new v0.2 ROM beta and it's working great. I'm running it with Chevy's 1.2 Ghz LV kernel, but I have it dialed down to 900 at the moment. You have to get used to moving apps back and forth as needed from the sd card to the phone, but it's really snappy. I'm not experiencing the lag with icons loading that I was before. Probably the quickest I've used to date. Anything associated with default or system apps needs to be on the phone from my exp. For example, I like Dialer One for calling -- just my personal preference. Well using Fab's NexTheme (created by Manup) and his themed Launcher Pro, when I set dialer one to default ringer, it would ask me everytime for default because the app was on the sd card. I moved it to the phone and it works fine. All widgets have to be on the phone as well.

I can't wait for the source to be released so we can get some seamless ROMS that take more advantage of what FROYO has to offer. Just my 2 cents.. I'll probably stick with this for now and see what happens next. Everytime I say that I catch myself flashing a new ROM within a day. lol

I hope the source gets released sooner than later because with all the new phones coming out, the devs are gonna be building for a lot more units. I hope we have some that stick with the Droid.

I have tried them all, and JRummy's Kangerade is the fastest and smoothest so far.

I've tried them all too. I've discovered it's all relative to your phone. I know some phones have no problems running 1.25GHz kernels, but mine just won't do it. Some can run the uLv kernels that Chevy makes, but mine doesn't like them. I know Brett likes Onix but my phone ran hot with it. I don't know how these phones can be so different, but they are.. What works for some, doesn't work for others.

For the record, I love the look of JRummy's newer stuff, esp the cyan since I haven't seen that much, but I got a lot of lag when loading up his stuff and tried it with several kernels. I'm happy it works for you -- it's some good looking stuff. I like the direction Onix has taken which is slightly different -- looks wise.. I'm looking for something unique.. theme wise especially. ROM wise, I think we're not gonna see much until they can get the source coding to work with.

Here's the fix for Apps2Sd so you don't have to keep moving back & forth)
Read the FAQs on alldroid-
I had the same problem- what you have to do is the following (and there are some other options)
whenever you reboot (unfortunately) and I'm assuming you're using a launcher replacement (like launcher pro)
1. Settings--> applications--> manage applications--> launcher pro (or whatever you're using)--> clear defaults
2. Press Home and select the normal launcher (don't set as default)
All of your apps should be back in place but this works for me even when that doesn't happen.
3. Hit home again and select your launcher (launcherPro, adb, etc...)
4. verify all your icons are back.
5. If so, hit home again and set as default.

i was running this and it was good until i seen that swype opened there beta up again and it is not friendly with 2.2 so im back to my old 2.1 rom but i'd rather have swype than 2.2 at this point. plus 2.2 roms are much more buggy than the 2.1 i think ill wait till an official release is made im sure the roms will be much much better than

Haha I WAS running onyx. Now I'm running birdmans fly rom. Probably one of the faster roms.

I think bugless best is a really goodrom but it definitely is a little over rated. at least with my phone. 1 good thing about it is that it is one of the most phone compatable roms
