Bugless Beast Froyo release!

Has anyone else ran into problems with Flash Player on BBv0.1. I tried to load up YouTube last night and couldn't get it up. When I woke up this morning I looked around for other users having the same issue. It turns out there was a problem with the original release the Pete let out yesterday afternoon that had a messed up version of Flash. He also released a second version of BB that doesn't have this problem. If you are one of the affected users you can follow these simple steps to fix your Flash Player.

1) Download Root Explorer from the Market (well worth the money - Astro does not allow for Read-Write access to the System Folders)
2) Download the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 APK (MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service)
3) Copy the APK to your SD Card
4) Open Root Explorer and select "Mount as R/W" at the top of the screen
5) Browse to the /system folder in Root Explorer
6) Open the /Apps folder
7) Locate the "Adobe Flash APK" -Long Press - Select DELETE
8) Return to the home screen of Root Explorer and browse to the /sdcard folder
9) Select the newly downloaded Flash Player 10.1 APK and choose to install
10) It will tell you that Flash Player is a system app, are you sure you want to replace it (it is actaully no longer there - so go ahead and replace - it never worked in the first place!)
11) Flash Player is now installed - If you browse back to /system/app you will see it is no longer there (that is because you removed it from the system - further proof of this is if you browse to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications you will see that Flash Player is no longer in "All Apps" but in "Downloaded" also the file is MUCH larger (around 13 megabytes)

Many thanks go out to z32589 from Droid-Life.com for this fix!

My Flash didn't seem to work at first either. I found a Flash.apk online somewhere, downloaded and installed it and it seems to be working fine. Didn't have to mess with Root Explorer at all.

Does anyone know if the version that made it to ROM Manager earlier today is the second release? It's dated 6/9, which was when the first release hit. His website shows 6/10 @ 2am for the most recent. I grabbed v.1 within 10 minutes of his release, but have not yet grabbed the 2am update. I'd like to do it through ROM Manager if possible -- but would prefer to make sure that is the updated version, not the same one I'm already running.

anyone else having pandora/slacker issues pandora likes to freeze up and fc and slacker refuses to load any stations

Long time lurker first time poster.

So I've made the jump rooted and threw Froyo on last one I put on was FRF57 from Droid-Life and I am using the 1.43.01p Baseband. I've been reading about BB and I want to try it my question is when I am in SPrecovery am I just doing the System and Boot? Do I need to select anything else? And should I use Pete's Baseband? Or is the one I have the same? Any help would be appreciated.

Pete's baseband just combines the .41 and .43 basebands into an all-in-one package so you don't have to install .41 and then .43 manually. If you already have .43, there's really no point in running it from what I've seen in the thread pete made.

I am unable to download maps from the market

IS anyone else having a problem that when using launcher Pro and you press the home button it takes you to the stock launcher ?

My maps are downloaded but when you go to market it doesn't say it is. They work fine. I am running Launcher Pro and have not had the problems with the stock returning. Do a reboot and it should ask you which launcher you would like to use. I always check the box and select Launcher Pro.

FWIW, my load worked fine until I installed Blue Extreme Theme, then I started having issues with the market and my wifi would come and go. When I saw the NexFro for fabolous, I did 2 factory resets/data wipes, formatted boot, system and cache twice each and reinstalled. Everything is back to normal again. I read on another forum that adding the themes is causing a lot of the issues right now. Not sure but mine was fine running stock BB but went little wacky with Blue Energy on top of it.

Sorry for the noob questions but I am still a little unclear how to load this. Am I doing the following:
1. Extracting FRF5701.zip to my sd card under the nandroid folder.
2. Booting up in SPrecovery
3. Going into the backup and restore, selecting Advanced Nandroid restore, then choosing the backup to restore.
(This is what I am not 100% on, I am already on FRF57, just not BB .01)
4. What should I select to restore just system and boot or do I need to select everything?

Or am I renaming the file to update.zip then doing the following:
1. Booting up in SPRecovery.
2. Going into install, selecting allow update.zip installation
3. install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)
4. Not sure if the same options apply (System, Data, Cache, Boot, recovery), but same question as above what do I restore just system and boot? Or more?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, if you're using Clockwork, you don't have to extract. Just put the zip file in the root of the sdcard. Boot into recovery, select the install zip from sd and find the file. Hit the camera button and let it load it up. When it goes back to recovery menu, select reboot phone now.

I am having an issue with folders on BBV0.1. When I create a folder on my home screens and load it with apps it loses the app icons when I reboot so I am left with an empty folder. The apps are all still in the ALP drawer, they just wont stay in my folders. This didn't happen on original froyo release. Anyone have any ideas or fixes?

But what if I am using SPrecovery?

Thanks again.

You can download the free version of rom manager, flash clockworkmod recovery and just install the normal zip file.

Just got it up and running using Clockwork Mod recovery. Runs really really well. Somehow, twitter and facebook apps dissapeared and I can't find the twitter app in the market. Fortunately, I had it backed up with Titanium
