Can we still root this phone with the latest ota updates?

Brought my stock unrooted phone into sprint for a battery issue and they ran the ota update even though I asked them not to...
I know that s-Off isn't possible but I can still root it, right?

Yep. Unlock the bootloader first with htc's unlock method. FYI, it will wipe everything on your phone, same as a factory reset. Then pick a root method you can most understand, most if not all should work for you. Essentially it'll involve flashing a custom recovery then using that to flash a superuser root app.

Actually you can get s-off even with the latest update.

Yep. I kind of wish I had a s-on phone that is updated so I could try it out. Oh well. Every time something like this happens it just amazes me.
