computer search could not find the drivers to install and I do not know the Serial number.

Welcome to Android Central! When you plug it in via USB, do you see a USB connection notification? Swipe down the notification panel and tap it, and make sure MTP is selected.

If you don't see a USB connection notification, then try a different USB cable, like one from your cellphone.
