Can't type anything correctly on this Note 8!

When I changed my display from FHD to WQHD the keyboard was resized to a much smaller one, I resized it to a more comfortable one and it's perfect. It's also SwiftKey because I'm just too used to cursor arrows for easy editing.

Complaints against autocorrect in iOS are legendary. Been there, done that. Siri is not a good typist either it Seems!

I tend to think my BlackBerry DTEK was one of, if not the best. I didn't use the physical keyboard on PRIV as it was new to me and small, cramped size.

The Mate 9 was the widest phone so you'd think it'd be perfect- or so I hoped.

Give me a keyboard and I'm happy as a lark and 50 per. But then I see people that pretty much grew up using touch and Smart phones fly. And damn the spelling mistakes.

The Note can be the worst sometimes at predicting and learning. (Where is the 'add to dictionary hiding?')

Have you tried swipe typing instead of tapping each individual letter one at a time. That's what I use and I have no trouble at all on the note8. I personally use GBoard I find it almost flawless and I can swipe each word in less than a second. I highly recommend it.

I was just amazed at how well the iPhone keyboard was for me. I think keyboards are very user preference and everyone has different results with keyboards. I've spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect keyboard, free ones and paid. I'm a swipe keyboard user myself I use G board or Swype, and I have not found the perfect keyboard yet.

G board, main thing I hate about that keyboard is that if I type "I", it won't auto capitalize it most the time.
The irony is that GBoard on iOS is actually better than GBoard on Android. It supports things like long press on the space bar allowing you to move the cursor around.

You can move the cursor on Gboard for Android by simply sliding your thumb left and right along the space bar...

Just tried this, and yes you can. I did not know this.

Do you have the issue with G board not auto capitalizing the letter "I". Mine does it sometimes, but most time it does not. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry...I can't help you there. I don't recall it not auto capitalizing "I" ever. I use glide typing 99% of the time, maybe that makes a difference, I don't know. Tried to use "I" as much as possible in this reply to see if I could get it to do it, but I could not. Ha.

Lol. I don't get it. I'll have to check glide typing out. Nevermind, just seen glide typing is what g board calls it. I thought maybe you had a new keyboard to try out.. Lol

You can adjust the size of the keyboard with both Swiftkey & Gboard. I have to use my stylus on my Note 8. If I adjust the size of either keyboard there either too small or too big & cover the text box in almost all applications, internet, or email. The Samsung keyboard sucks but it's the only one I've found that will adjust itself to the text box. I'm using the Gboard right now, with my stylus.

Absolutely the easiest device I have ever typed on. With so many keyboards to choose from something is wrong. Look at my keyboard how large it is spell check is awesome. Screenshot_20180108-204853.jpg

Love Gboard. Very similar experience to IOS and the addition to Google search embedded can't go wrong.

Gboard user here. I still pound away at the keys but am trying to train myself to glide type. When I actually do swipe type it works well. I just need to get used to it.

As another poster commented, gboard does not always capitalize the first letter of a new sentence when typing on my experience. Never had this issue on my Moto G4 using gboard.

Another issue I've have is that I always seem to hit the 'b' instead of the space bar which is annoying. Most of the time auto correct will fix the mess but not always. Lol. :)

I'll give Swift key a try for kicks.

My fingers have an affinity for the b key instead of space as well.... ugh.

So many keyboard choices out there. You just have to find what works for you. A keyboard that one person says "sucks" might be the best for you. So don't take anyone's opinion as anything more than just that, an opinion. Personally, I like both Gboard and Swiftkey, but after years of Swiftkey I seem to have settled in with Gboard as my choice for now.

My only issue with SwiftKey is I often press delete when I mean to press L and vice-versa.
