These seem like silly questions, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Is there any difference functionally/memory-wise between using a shortcut to an application (long press on the screen->application shortcut versus opening the app draw and dragging an app on to the screen?

Also, I have three launchers installed on my phone (AWD, LPP, SBP). Can I assume that when one launcher is running, the others are not running in the background (and thus the widgets installed on those launcher shells)?

Two ways to accomplish the exact same thing :)

If you have just switched shells, the former may still be running, or at least still in memory, Open the task manager to double check, and kill if necessary.
