Chrome web page pop ups

I am on Galaxy note 10+ and recently my phone has been opening chrome web pages randomly when i don't even have chrome open during those occasions, it happens every few minutes or when i open the phone after awhile, the pop ups are usually about virus scans. Also sometimes instead of a web page it is an ad.

This is often related to an app you installed that is carrying adware. Try uninstalling some of your recent apps (usually games).

I didn't download anything recently on this phone, just been browsing websites

It could also be related to updates of existing apps, so you may need to consider uninstalling recently updated apps as a test.
