Chromecast turns on TV in middle of night....

I have my Chromecast plugged in to the USB port of my surround sound for power, and then into an HDMI port for its output.
This works great; Sound and picture are perfect.

Here's my challenge:
If I leave the USB power plugged to the Chromecast overnight, I wake to the screen on the TV, not fully "on", but in a powered condition where there is a slight gray blank picture on the TV.
So, it's not fully on, but it's not off, if that makes any sense...

Thoughts?

Not sure if this is an issue with some 'sleep' setting issue with your TV or a Chromecast issue. One thing you might want to look into is start up the Google Home app on a phone/tablet, find the 'Devices' menu, and there should be an 'Edit Backdrop' option that lists all kinds of different sources to use for the images you Chromecast shows on the screen background.

Move your Chromecast to another HDMI port if possible. The port you are using may be using HML? To control the TV giving the Chromecast the ability to turn on the TV. You can also check the TV settings to see if you can turn off device control to that port.

Interesting...
Thinking out loud..
So the Chromecast hits the surround first...
I could try one of the other hdmi inputs on the surround, but I'll try maybe some of the TV settings first?
No specific related setting on the TV, but there is a "TV power on control" setting In power management.
I'll give that a shot, then maybe dig out the surround sound manual and see if maybe there is something there if this doesn't work.
Thanks for the idea!
