CM7 Nightly Builds

I'm pretty sure mine is just dead, but I'm always willing to try something. What size did you use for the partition? CWM gives about seven options...

Doesn't really matter because you're gonna format afterwards.

Fried my SD card for the first time on build 12. :( Had my stuff backed up, though.

Was able to swap my 8GB Blackberry card in without any issues. Gonna get off 12 and try 14 ASAP before this card gets fried too.

On build 17. Gingerbread bootloaders and jt's V3 kernel. I'll report back tomorrow regarding stability and sd card. Bootloaders and kernel are supposed to guard against sd nuking, only time will tell.

What happened to 15 & 16? LOL!

on 22 now, GPS locks in better. wasn't so good on 18 (i think?).

i noticed there is an area for "stable" builds in addition to the nightlies, but nothing is there (yet?). i wonder at what point will there be a stable CM7 build? anybody with previous CM7 experience know? just curious.

:p

I've been using cm7 on my new fascinate from build 20 - 25 now. Very stable, the only bugs I've found so far is the led flashlight not working, but somehow working when you take a picture (not a video), and for some reason all the system sounds are very very low (the sounds for clicking on menu stuff, the keyboard sounds, and also in call volumes). Hopefully these will be fixed soon and there will be a "stable" release :)

It just kinda frustrates me that an official cyanogen mod version has even these little bugs since I experienced no bugs at all on my optimus v which was obviously a 3rd party port.

These issues have been known issues from the start and will most probably not get resolved until the developers can get their hands on the source code.

These are all "nightlies" and are not "official release candidates". Bugs are always present in the nightlies and once an RC comes out then you can expect a more stable version.

Nice post. People forget that these are not official release and by their very nature, are/can be buggy. I'm on 26, doing fine with it and the new kernel it has. Meets all my needs even though there are some items that still need some attention. Great work from the devs on these nightlies.

I just updated to 25! UUGH!!! What's the new kernel it has?

Just installed 26, don't really notice any changes, although I discovered an app in market called "Volume Control +" and I managed to turn up the system sounds, so if the low sounds when clicking things and typing bother you then give this a try cause it worked for me :)

Appears jt did some work on it (Thanks JT!). Now voltage control can be used on it, can be oc'd to 1300. Fast little booger. Noticed that the screen colors themselves are crisper and nicer - but I noticed that in the last few nightlies and when I installed Glitch, they all darkened up again. This new/updated kernel is a very nice touch.

Volume Control+ seems to be helpful, but ymmv.

So i DLed and installed 26. I am actually going to try to underclock it a bit and see if I can get better battery life.

Volume Control + would be nice to use but my main issue is that the person on the other end of the phone has a hard time hearing me. too bad there is no fix for that yet.

Yeah, I'm still looking around for an app to dramatically boost in call volumes (incoming and outgoing).

I am now on 27 and it seems as if the call volume might be better. I've been talking with my wife a lot using my cell (she is my guinea pig) and she can hear me fine now.

I hope to hear reports from others who tried it that it is better for them as well. There were a LOT of changes in this release so maybe this was fixed too. I don't understand the entire change log all that well but it can be found here for anyone that is interested.
