True story; I was holding a baby and my phone rang. In that instant, time stopped, as the phone slipped from my hands I had to decide, drop the baby dive for the phone, or drop the phone and cry.... baby or evo, baby or evo, baby or evo. Since I forgot to put a case on the baby, I decided the phone would have to take one for the team, thankfully, the case I got from sprint was enough to keep my precious EVO safe from the impact of gravity, ground, and the forces of holding a baby. Its okay after a bit of therapy, but I think my phone as PTSD now.

Well as you have probably gathered from my screen name I'm a little country and still love gadgets. My brother and I own a taxidermy shop in Blanco (yes the one with the chupacabra). As you can probably imagine there are some nasty things goin on in here. So one morning I show up still a lil slow from the night before and tripped over some deer antlers. My precious 3 day old Evo went flying out of my hands and into a pile of skulls we have in the corner. My baby suffered some pretty bad dings and scratches. I am still in need of a case, and I want the best. Seidio please!

Shortly after receiving my EVO as an early father’s day gift, I had a series of “near-misses at work. I am a fire instructor for one of the larger firefighter schools in the country and during recent training sessions my EVO has had some very close calls. As you may guess a firefighter school deals with two primary hazards for an EVO; water & fire. We train students in the use of fire hoses and from time to time these students have difficulty hanging onto all the pressure. I am observing the training when the student from about 15 feet away when he looses control of the hose and it turns my direction and blast me with water, I thought for sure my phone (in my pocket) was done for. But by chance it was just a little damp. The 2nd near-miss occurred during live fire training when I lost grip of the phone with my wet hand and let’s say that it was a very warm close call for my EVO, not sure the wife and kids would have appreciated a me returning home with a melted fathers day gift. Thanks for letting me share!

I was playing basketball with my sister and had my evo in a side holster, but it kept bouncing around when I would run and I thought it wasn't very safe. So, I took it out and wrapped it up in my sweatshirt and put it down on the sidelines. For some reason the ball kept rebounding closer and closer to that spot after that. Must've been subconscious or something. Well, sure enough, despite being careful the ball hit square on my phone. Luckily the sweatshirt was enough to protect it but I'd feel a lot better with that rugged case on it.

This happened just the day before yesterday and did get me started thinking about cases. I was walking my two pugs and listening to an old time radio show podcast on my evo. The show ended, and I fished out my evo to put something else on when one of the pugs pulled hard on the leash (which was wrapped around the same wrist. I lost the evo, nearly caught it with the other hand. Fortunately it landed on the grass, not the sidewalk,

I received my evo a week ago. My seven year old daughter had her softball game and I filmed her at bat in 720p for her to watch later. After the game I went to show her the movie and the evo dropped to the concert! Nothing like watching your new phone drop to the ground. I now have some nice road rash on the back side. A case would have saved the day!

Oh man I coulda used a case in one certain situation. I was out to eat with my gf, it was some decent restaurant, but nothing over the top. Well during our dinner, we could tell another couple, at a table next to us were fighting. Well about 20min later, the lady at the other table that was fighting, got up, called the guy an A-Hole and as she was walking away, grabbed what was close to her to throw at him. Guess what that was? My phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

She didn't even stop and when I talked to her bf all he said was "Sorry" and walked out! Ahh I was so ticked off then, but now its a funny story, but I do wish I had a case then! Ohh and my phone was pretty jacked up... Screen was cracked, etc.

I was recently on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN. We got out of the car to head into the Apple Barn place, and she barks at me, "hey, grab my purse!"
I turn and grab her Coach bag, and as I am stepping out, there goes my beautiful naked Evo, sliding off my leg and heading 4 feet down to the ground.

Smash.
Onto the corner it hit.

If I would have had a case, my phone would not have needed an insurance swap.

Even though her Coach is expensive, my Evo is now the number 1 priority! LOL

I'm a firefighter and I was jumping into someones car with my gear on and my phone flew out landed a few feet away with the jaws of life and other hydraulic tools working all around me. Thankfully I had time to snatch it up and it wasn't hurt. Too close for comfort!

I live across the street from a cemetery in the woods, so when I come home late at night, sometimes there are coyote, and other beastly creatures waiting to unleash havoc on me. The other night, I could see a pack of 4 legged carnivora feasting on a hand protruding up from the ground near a gravestone. As I got out of my car, they turned their attention towards me. I made a mad dash for my front door, but they caught me and surrounded me. Armed with nothing but my Seidio-covered Evo 4G, I wielded my giant black slab and proceeded to defend myself with it. After I had defeated the predators, I looked down at my phone. Unscathed. The Seidio Innocase had taken a beating, and bears the scars... but it did it's job in protecting me, and more importantly my Evo 4G. After a proper burial, I find myself without a case... without protection, from these evil night stalkers.

My Evo 4G and I lived to fight another day... but without it's armor, we can only hide in the shadows at night.

O the horror...

Once i let my niece play with my phone at a backyard barbeque. The entire family was on the deck hanging out and such. Below the deck lays 95% gravel and 5% patch of dead grass. Some how my niece drops my phone off of the deck and all i hear is UNCLE WOUDIE!!!! I run down the flight of stairs to fine my phone laying 5 inches away from the gravel as it landed in the dead grass.

I was sitting on our bench next to the sidewalk enjoying my EVO 4G. After a while I set it on my lap to enjoy the summer day. I forgot that I had laid it there and when I went to get up it side off and was heading for the concrete. Fortunately I managed to get my foot under it and punted it into the grass. That was a close call. I sure need to get a case for it asap.

my evo water logged

I chauffeur for a living and one night out on a long charter I had an emergency. My cllients were eating at a five star restaurant and I caught a case of the bubbly guts and had to go immediately. As a lot of you may be able to relate , I use my phone ofter to keep me occupied in such situations . On this incident,I happened to put my phone down for a moment on my dropped suit pants . Would you believe that within seconds, I finished my business and proceeded to get up from the toilet and completed forgot about my phone's location . As soon as I remembered , it was too late while I heared this flop.I retrieved it immediately , but it was too late ...water damage was evident . I do believe it i had some type of body glove over my phone would have saved it for the short time it was in the water.

It was the 3rd day of life after my EVO 4G, and I live in Alabama and we get random thunderstorms even the in the middle of June and as I was running in the rain to a door and somehow my EVO fell out of my pocket and into a puddle of water, the back came off battery came off and somehow I was to pick up the pieces and be okay with no major damage, BUT if I would've have an Active case it would've been fine! LOVE YOU SEIDIO Y'ALL (SOUTHERN ACCENT) MAKE AMAZING PRODUCTS!

Well, I'm going to get a case anyway. My mom sometimes likes to use my phone for it's GPS abilities when they go into Pittsburgh for appointments. She has MS and can sometimes have coordination troubles, so I thought a case for my Evo would be a smart idea. The first time she used it, it bounced two feet down onto astroturf and got not a scratch. Whew...

I had my phone in a leather belt holder on my hip. Not a good case. I got in the car, and the phone meet up with the steering wheel. The screen was destroyed. I was devastated. No insurance, no money to buy a new phone. It brought me to tears. If I had a good case, like the Innocase? Rugged Combo Value Pack, That would have never happened.

A couple days ago, I needed to go potty (yeah I said it!), so as Im walking to the bathroom, I go to put my phone in my pocket so it doesn't get any "water" on it. As I'm about to slip my Evo into the comforts of my pocket, I get distracted by my little cousin running at me and fail to aim at the pocket and it slips out of my hand and and almost smashed onto the hard tile but THANK GOD my foot broke the fall and didn't have a glass shatters sound like the beginning of a Stone Cold entrance!

It was going to be a good day.

I was making a trip across a couple states to go see a friend. I decided to drive instead of fly, just for the experience. I also thought it would be great to use the HD camera on my new Evo 4g phone that I had just bought two days prior.

When I had picked up the phone at Best Buy, the guy suggested I get a case for it.

?A case is great to protect your phone, in case you drop it or anything,? he told me, saying I could never be too safe. I told him I?m pretty careful with my phones, so I?ll pass on the case.

On the second day of my trip, as I was driving down the interstate, I saw something worthy of being recorded.

The sky was dark in the distance and the contrast of dark clouds and ones illuminated gold by the nearby sun was a sight to see.

This would be a perfect for some pictures with the new phone! I thought. I exited the interstate and pulled to the side of the road.

I hopped out of the car and the wind whipped my hair.

Storms coming fast, I thought.

I saw an overpass about hundred feet to my right that would be perfect to shoot from. It looked out over the interstate, which was clear of trees and the sky stretched out to the horizon. I walked over to it and looked at the clouds. Perfect.

I got out the phone, and clicked on the camera.

The cars whipped by me on the interstate below, as I heard a faint rumble come from the darker clouds in the distance.

I turned the camera around, wanting to have a high quality shot with myself in the picture, instead of using the lower pixel front camera.

Now anyone that has ever had an Evo knows that it?s about impossible to have the phone turned around and be able to hit that capacitive button on the screen without looking at it, to take a picture. I was fumbling trying to hit the button, awkwardly holding the phone, and trying to smile, when it slipped from my hand.

I quickly tried grabbing it with my other hand, but was too late.
The phone hit the side railing of the overpass and bounced up over the interstate.

My eyes widened as I saw it tumble in the air, then fall straight down like a dead bird. I watched as it landed on the back of a semi-truck racing by on the interstate below.

The semi zoomed forward with my phone on its roof.

I stared at the distancing truck in disbelief. For a second I didn?t move. The next second, I bolted to my car and sped off after the semi.

I flew onto the interstate and pressed the pedal down, straining my little Honda?s engine. I hoped to catch the semi before my precious new phone fell off and was damaged any more.

A couple minutes later I saw the truck, like a beacon light gleaming to a distant ship.

Hope swelled up in my chest, telling me that it?s still possible to get my phone back.

I caught up to the truck and found I couldn?t see if the phone was on top of it or not.
I pulled to the side of the truck and motioned to the driver.

He had a pudgy face that sat plump on his shoulders, bypassing any neck. An equally plump hand put a sandwich to his mouth. A little green hat sat atop his head. The driver was oblivious to my wavings. I honked a few times, but to no avail.

Then I saw a turn signal go on as the truck swerved into the exit lane.

Oh what sweet luck, I thought. He?s getting off the exit!

The truck went into the exit lane and turned on the road. I followed behind as it pulled into a truck stop right off the exit. It stopped in a space among a bevy of other trucks.

I stopped behind it.

The door opened and the driver stuck out a pudgy little leg, followed by a huge belly, and then his pudgy head with the little green hat.

He hopped to the ground. He must have been no more than 5 foot 2. And with the tiny, green hat on his head, he looked just like a little leprechaun. He stood next to his truck and continued to eat his sandwich.

I jumped out of the car and walked up to him.

?Scuse me.? I started.

He looked over at me.

?I know this is going to sound weird, but I think my phone is on top of your truck.?

He looked at me like I was a lunatic.

?Yer phone?? he said.

?Yeah? I laughed.

?I know it?s weird,? I continued, ?but it fell out of my hands on an overpass and landed on your truck. I just need to climb up and see if it?s still there.?
He eyed me, suspiciously.

?Aint no one climbs on my truck but me,? he stated.

A little puzzled at his reaction I said, ?it?ll only take a second, if I could just look and-?

?Aint no one gets on my truck but me? he said again, his mouth full.
I shook my head in agitation.

?Well, can you climb up and look for me real quick?? I asked, doubting that he could even get high enough to take a peek.

?Nope.? He said.

?Why not?? My patience was starting to wear thin.

?Cause,? he said, ?I?m ?bout to eat my lunch.? He motioned to the truck stop restaurant with his head.

I looked at the remainder of sandwich still in his hand.

?You can?t just do it real quick, before you ? eat?? I asked.

?Nope. Gotta have my lunch,? he told me as he stuffed the rest of the sandwich in his mouth, ?I?ll do it after.?

And with that he turned and wobbled toward the restaurant.

I stood there, looking at the little leprechaun of a man, his backside waving at me with each step.

?Well, screw him.? I thought.

I glanced up at the top of the truck.

God I hope it?s still there, I thought.

I went around and jumped on the back, grabbed the top of the trailer and pulled myself up and looked.

There it was, sitting right in the middle on top of the truck trailer. And in one piece. My beautiful new phone.

I couldn?t help but give a giant smile and pulled myself up in one heave to the top. I stood up on the trailer, walked over to the phone and picked it up. Miraculously the only damage was a few scuffs marks and dents on the back and side of the phone where it must have hit the railing and truck on the fall. I clicked the power button. The face of the phone shined out to me as it said 1 missed call.

I unlocked the phone and pulled down the screen.

A number came up.

I called it.

?Hello??

I smiled and hit end call.

The phone still worked.

I felt elated at my luck.

?WOOOO!? I yelled as I jumped up and threw my arms in the air.

A couple truckers nearby looked over at me.

?HEY!?

A loud yell penetrated my happy thoughts.

I looked over to see the leprechaun man wobbling fast toward me and the

truck, his pudgy face red and scowling.

?GET OFF MY TRUCK!? he yelled.

I smiled, still feeling euphoric on my great luck with the phone.

?Found it!? I said, smiling, holding it up for him to see.

?GET OFF MY TRUCK!? he yelled again, enraged.

I stuffed the phone in my pocket, scrambled down the back of truck and hopped in my car.

As I pulled the car around, I waved to the leprechaun man and smiled. He gave me a pudgy middle finger. I laughed and I sped away.

Driving down the interstate, I pulled my phone out of my pocket. I looked at it again, and rubbed my fingers across the dents as the screen glowed warmly. I plugged it into the charger, and smiled.

I had my phone back.

It was going to be a good day.

It feels good to be a ninja...

I was drinking at a BBQ with friends that I haven't seen in a long time last night. Nobody knew that I was a proud owner of an HTC Evo as it is STILL SOLD OUT in my area. I was one of the lucky few that had the know how to preorder my EVO.

As soon as I whipped out my EVO to blast some tunes, ALL THESE HOT WOMEN CAME OUT OF THE WOODWORK to try and play with my phone! It was soo bad that they wanted to rip the phone out of my hands!! The EVO then slipped out of my hands after one attempt from a crazy woman and luckily... just luckily... i used my super Tai Chi reflexes to snatch it out of the air - about 4 inches from the concrete.

Not cool... and then i thought to myself... I need a really sweet Seidio case to protect this gem.

Power to the people y'all. Holler. =P

THE END.

I just got my Evo...haven't dropped it yet but would still love a free case so I won't break it or have a "close call" :)
