I have no story to tell. but i probably will soon enough with 2 Kids and 2 EVOs in the house :D

Oh the horror!

Picture the look on my face when my 5 year old was taking my picture and it slipped out of his tiny hands and bounced twice!!! arghhhhhh!

24 hours into having my Evo, 2 catastrophes in less than 1 minute occurred. I had my Evo in my back left pocket of my very loose fitting work pants. I went to open the door to a mens restroom. As I moved to pass through the door, the Evo swung out to the side as I stepped through the door, and SMASHED into the door frame. Continuing to walk, I reached into my pocket to look at my LLLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG awaited phone upgrade (my just replaced old phone had been with me for 3.5 years!!!). As I grabbed my Evo, I finger-fumbled the phone, and it leaped out of my hands, heading straight for the toilet!!! I frantically reached for it. As I did, my fingers smacked it. That was enough to change the trajectory of my barley-handled device away from it's watery grave. Instead it SMASHED into the hard, tiled , disgusting, filthy floor of this men's restroom!!! Landing just inches in front of the toilet!! I was just sick with panick!!! I grabbed the phone which had landed screen down, expecting the absolute worst!!! AMAZINGLY, the screen had not cracked!!!! YEAH!!!! Amazingly, there weren't even any scratches, or dings on the case!!! Oh what a relief!!!!

Check this out. I have the Evo & was at the gym. I was running a virtual marathon on a treadmill & was listening to my music on headphones from my phone. So I'm trotting away with my phone on the treadmill's display, when suddenly my hand catches the wire from my headphones & yanks the phone off the display, sending my Evo into a spin to the ground. What sucked was the fact that the phone didn't just hit the ground, it actually slammed & tumbled on the treadmill belt, then launched to the ground & skid under a treadmill behind me. When I checked it out, it still works but now it has scuffs around the edges & on the camera lens. I only had an invisible shield on the front. I wish I had a case or something to protect the rest.

I bought my EVO as Sams and drove home. On the way home I was still using my old G1 and had my new EVO in my lap when I decided to stop to get a quick bite to eat. When I got out of the car I reached up for my window-mounted G1 and my new (about 20 minutes old) EVO fell out of my lap and hit the parking lot. Thankfully, not a scratch on the phone. I've been in the market for a good case ever sense and unable to find one I liked. These Seidio's look to be the best cases on the market.

Two days ago

This is not a "cool" story, but it's a true story. Two days ago I'm going down the isle in the grocery store using the Grocery IQ app (which by the way, is really powerful, it can sort your groceries in the exact order of how they are found in your local grocery store isle by isle). Anyway, I have my EVO in my left hand and I am reaching for a can of tomato paste (to make lasagna) with my right. And the stack of cans (on the top shelf) comes crashing down. One can goes smashing into my screen, knocking it out of my hand and on to the ground. Then a cascade of other cans begins to fall (which I instinctively shield by forming an umbrella shield over my fallen phone with my hands). After the cans stop, I reach down (terrified) and grab my phone. I look at the screen and it looks cracked. My heart stops- I can't believe this just happened- And my crappy insurance from sprint only gives me a refurbished phone. Upon further inspection I see that the sprint screen protector is cut and mashed up on one side. I rip the screen protector off and see that there is a cut mark on the screen that I quickly wipe away with my thumb. I hold the phone at an angle to see the light reflection off of it and I see that there is no damage to the screen at all. The corner of the can hit it hard! WELL DONE HTC! Only the screen protector was damaged. And luckily the fall to the floor did no damage to my baby. At this point my heart is racing and I realize I need a very sturdy case. I did not like the ones sprint was selling on launch day. But my search is on. That is why I could use a good seidio case.

this is my story

So I parked my car in the driveway (which I do quit often) and norm when I am driving I have my phone in my lap. So I get out of my car forgetting my phone is in my lap... I start to stand up when I remember my phone was in my lap... i goto catch it.. its fumbling around im my hands like a loose football.. and in slow motion I see it fall.. Luckly for me it lands in the grass about a inch from the driveway! WHEW! I have been looking at cases just haven't pulled the trigger yet. This would be great (and I am sure I would test it well lol)

At the gym doing curls, bar catches on ear phone cord ripping evo from my pocket. Barely was able to break It's fall with my shoe.

EVO almost died

So i was walking out of the movie theatre with my friends, and i went to check my phone for messages and my friend bumped into me and i dropped my phone face down, and then kicked it while trying to pick it back up luckly nothing happened but it scared the hell out of me

I love my Evo!

I purchased a silicon skin from Sprint when I got my Evo...wasn't really sure it was the case I wanted but my husband had one and said I'd like it. After a few days of using it I was thinking that I hadn't even felt the phone in my hand without the case, so I took it off. Immediately after picking up the phone for the first time without the case, it slipped out of my hand and I had a total "hot potato" moment of trying to catch it before it smashed to the ground. Luckily I somehow managed to grab it and hold onto it before it hit, but it showed me how slippery the sucker is without a case!

I had a Hero before this Evo and it gave me nothing but problems. The Evo hasn't shown me any problems...it's unbelievable how happy I am with this phone. I'm hoping it lasts me a long time, so I need a good case to keep it in!

I bought a car stereo with an input jack so I could use my phone to replace my mp3 player and reduce how many electronics I have to lug around. I keep my EVO in the drink holder in the center console of my truck and this was working fine until I had to brake hard to avoid a collision. As I was braking the phone launched into the air and by a miracle I caught it with my right hand. I have no case to protect the phone and I am certain it would have been damaged when it bounced of my windshield.

So....

So... I saw this thread several days ago and thought, I haven't dropped this phone so I cannot reply.

Well I just dropped it. I came home from taking the kids to see Despicable Me and was on the phone with my mom as is was walking to the door. On the deadbolt keyhole there was a praying mantis(baby, but still about an inch long). So I stopped and told my kids to look at it which they did. I then still needed to get in the house so I tried to use the key to give the mantis a "scoot" out of the way. That was when it decided to jump right on to my phone hand and had me freak out as if I walked into a spiderweb(know what I mean!?) and my phone took a tumble towards the concrete, but I bumped it with my hand and managed to get it to hit a banister before landing in mulch.

I was horrified as I picked up the phone only to find the battery case came loose and there were to scratches on the side of the phone.

I am a girly man and I need a case because insects that unexpectedly fly at me scare me to death.:)

While vacationing in Cairo, Egypt near the pyramids, I was mounting a camel for a brief ride. As I threw my leg over the hump of the reclined camel, my Evo flew out of my front pocket.

I shouted "Yikes!" too loudly, as the startled camel stood up and stepped back on my new phone. The screen is fine since it landed face-down on the sandy ground, but the back that would have been case protected is pretty scuffed up. But everyone (especially my wife) had a good laugh, and she loves to tell the story whenever someone asks, "What happened to the back?" when I'm showing off my phone.

I redo houses for a living and I was on the way to one an using gps so I set the phone on my lap. When I went to get out I forgot my evo was on my lap and it fell face down onto the cement. The same day I was redoing one of my houses and decided to listen to music on my evo while doing so, I was up on a ladder painting the ceiling. When I went to go clean up I noticed the screen of my evo was painted white. I think a case would help in both those situations, especially since I didn't have a screen protector.
