So when I hit 80mph on my motorcycle and I leave the evo in the cargo pocket on my shorts....

The space between the buttons it a bit to wide.

A friend of mine was admiring my Evo out in the carport driveway ... we were sitting in chairs next to her car when was showing here around my phone ... I went in the house for a minute as she decided to warm up her truck ... As I am walking back out I noticed she put my phone on her front hood of her car ... I didnt think anything of it until I noticed that the rumble of her engine was slightly causing my phone to move ... I started to walk over to grab my phone when she gave her engine 4 Harley Davidson revs ... My phone is now on the edge of the hood about to hit the concrete when all I could do is Hackey Sack it with my foot ... Luckily I kicked it 4ft into the grass ... Lucky for me AND HER ... I dont know what I was thinking when I kicked it cuz I damn sure didnt plan on it landing 4ft away in the softness of mother earth.

I dont have a horrible story or a near miss so Im lucky in that part. My true horror story is that I have my beautiful EVO naked all the time, which leaves it vunerable to injury :( So the sooner I get a free case, the better. That or insurance will have to take care of it.

On the bus yesterday listening to the FM tuner in the EVO and had it sitting on the seat next to me. Bus went around a corner and the EVO flys off the seat and was saved only by the headphones in my ears holding the phone from flying across the bus. It hit the metal on the side of the seat, but was ok. A case would have been nice and saved me the 5 second heart attack.

My near-miss was poetic justice, I'm sure.

My colleague just shattered her iPhone screen because it was naked. It slipped from her lap whilst driving and she crunched it under her brake pedal in a flurry of activity to try saving it.

My advice? "Get a case, dummy."

Of course, I have no case. Haven't been able to justify the cost yet.

Now I need one. Not just for prevention, but to cover up the nicks all around the side and top--because I dropped it. From my lap. Onto the street. The same day I had lectured my coworker about her naked phone mishap.

I stand humbled, corrected, but still too poor to drop the dough on a Seidio.

Here's to hoping my repentance pays off.

Well, on Sunday, June 6, I was in the lobby of our church and someone came up to me to shake my hand. My EVO was in my right hand and as I tried to move it to my left hand, I dropped it onto a tile floor from about a 42" height. I was too afraid to look at it. I just knew the screen was broken. I quickly picked it up and placed it facedown on a nearby counter, then I shook the guy's hand. He said he was sorry and didn't mean to make me drop my phone. It wasn't his fault anyway but I was kicking myself for not having a case (they were all sold out). So after we spoke, I decided the moment of reckoning had come and I needed to assess the damage. To my amazement, I didn't see any damage at all! Later, I noticed a slight indentation on the bottom left corner, but other than that, no damage! Coming from a Pre, I know my Pre would not have survived that drop, but the EVO did!!!! Although this thing is seeminly built like a tank, a case would be nice just in case I happen to drop it and it lands on that sweet spot that causes the entire thing to shatter into a million pieces.

i have two daughters 2 and 3, i keep my evo in the center cup holder of the car for quick access to music while driving, the girls and i where taking a trip to see the in laws when we get the i unlock both car seats from inside then i get out to get my youngest out of her set by the time i put her down in the drive way i notice the 3 year old (who has by this time is out of her seat and got out through the open driver door and snatched the phone on her way out) is running down the drive way holding a small plush toy in one hand and my evo in the other, i called her name to stop her before she dropped it but the call only forced her to drop it,not the plush toy that would make sense to drop, but not just a drop but a good drop and slide down the drive way, this is only one of many attacks to my evo from my children, gotta love'um

I have a ten year old son with cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound. I also have a six year old son who is an energetic fireball. Two days after I finally found my Evo at Bbuy, my sons and I went out to do some shopping. We pull up to the parking lot of the grocery store and begin our exit from the vehicle. As always, I grab my Evo and let the ramp down in my van. My six year old unfastened his belt and exited the vehicle. I unfastened my ten year old's wheelchair restraints and began to push him down the ramp and out of the van (this is happening while I'm holding my Evo). As we're going the ramp, my six year old decided that the parking lot was a great place to practice his latest dance moves. He gets a bit too close to the lane when I yell, "Son, get back over here!" As I yell I extend my hand in his direction as if I could grab him from that distance. The hand lifted was the hand holding my Evo. As I raise my hand, I bump the handlebar on my son's chair which immediately separated my hand from my Evo. Luckily, my Evo fell directly on my son's lap. I saw flashes of my many trips to Sprint and Best Buy, looking for the Evo, flash before my eyes. I need a case in the worst way.

I was sitting in front of the tv waiting for the great news that we got lebron down here in miami. Well I had a close miss!

After the show ended my phone started blowing up texts, twitter, facebook updates and of course mom calling too see if I watched it. Any how, the special goes off the air and the owner of the cavs gets on and starts crying on how lebron quit and he is going to bring the curse of cleveland down here with him. I jumped off the couch with my evo in hand and "almost" threw it at the tv! I thought to myself this guy isn't worth it and I cant because I don't have a seidio case on to protect my evo! Who cares about a tv!

I take my Evo running with me. I use Cardio Trainer to track my runs, and Slacker Radio for my music motivation, it's great! However, I'm a little nervous to be carrying it around while I'm running. I don't wear my armband because I'm afraid it will get wet in that little plastic pouch (my ipod did!), so I carry it in my hand. One day while I was running on a particularly hot day, my hands kept getting really sweaty. Before I knew it, my Evo shot out of my hand! It was like slow motion, the Evo tumbling end over end to the concrete and me leaping forward to catch it. I DID catch it, barely. My heart was pounding and had somehow ended up in my stomach.

Needless to say, I could use a little protection...please?

Abt two weeks ago, I was sitting on the porch with a friend. We were chatting up about some business, when a Huge (idk what species) bee, came flying around, and we got up trying to avoid it and sta away. While we were sidestepping around on the porch, my friend accidently bumped my arm making a sudden reaction to the bee nearing him, and he knock my EVO out my hand.... and I watched as it cartwheeled some 5 feet down the first level of steps.

The entire time, it felt like the world was in slow motion as I helplessly watched my EVO take some abuse against the concrete steps. When it stopped, I rushed to recover my EVO, and to my surprise, it was just some scratching around the edges, and nothing on the screen it self. A case of any sort would have saved my EVO from taking this beating on its edges, but it still works fine, nothing broken or coming apart and everything (aside from its bruises) is A-ok.

So i saw the amzer luxe and lets all be honest, the orange one is probably the sexiest case for the evo imaginable... So like every evo preservation effort, i go ahead and order one. This was exactly one month ago. Still no case. I went a head and called india or as they call it customer service, and still no dice. I wrote an email to their North american sales guys in texas, no dice. I even managed to get one of them on the phone! and still no dice. And all along here is my poor little evo, naked in the is cruel world.

So i'm driving down the 15 here in cali at a comfortable 85 when all of the sudden i see a train wreck of an accident happen right in front of me. It was probably the most awful yet awesome thing i have ever seen, with metal twisting and glass shattering and rubber burning as every one on the free way my self included slowed down to 50 trying to make sense of what happened. Sure enough in my process of declaration my precious phone slid out of the cup colder it was in and slid under my feet as i hit on the breaks!

"oh no i screamed" not at the accident (which i later read in which no one was hurt) but at my poor helpless evo being crushed under the weight of my foot on the break pedal. I pulled over at the next possible exit to recover my evo before any more damage was done. And as i looked down, i realized that it was only an old calculator that had slipped out of my bag from the seat behind me and went under the pedal. My phone was sitting nestled gently under the emergency break to the left.

And i thought to myself "Damn you amzer! If only i had a rubberized case, the phone wouldn't have slipped from the cup holder, or much less slid across the floor mats!"

Help me protect my precious evo!

I couldn't make this story up if I wanted to. In car, EVO in lap. Forgetting it's there, I proceed to exit my car. Almost as if time stops, I realize EVO not in hand. Don't know how it hadn't already hit the ground, but I look down and see EVO traveling groundward (I know....just made that word up).

Before my EVO touches the ground, I am somehow under it. Needless to say, my hip is killing me....matter of fact, my entire body hurts. 2 days later I am still propped up in bed and wondering why I just didn't let it crumble to the concrete.

Whoopsy

A large part of the EVOs awesomeness comes from the sheer size of the device. I was so in love with this phone right after I got it, that I was playing with it one handed while peeing standing up. As I reached across the screen with my thumb it slipped out of my hand (because it's hard to single handedly use a phone that big) and, in what seemed like slow motion, fell towards the nastiness going on below. I brought my knee up instinctively and slapped it sideways while keeping the mess to a minimum. Fortunately, the nothing broke on the phone when it landed...that's why I need a case...to keep the emergency landings safe :)

Bad Habit

I have a very bad habit with my Evo... I constantly toss it so that it does one rotation in the air and catch it. I've done this for years with my Treos, and they took the occasional falls pretty well. Lots of scratches and dents in the case, but no other issues. I'm trying to break the habit now that I have my Evo, for fear of shattering the screen. I'm cutting back, but haven't gone cold turkey yet.

An awesome Seidio case for my Evo would help save my shiny new phone from my tossing habit when it inevitably goes crashing to the ground.

Got my brand new Evo two days ago. Decided to hold off on getting a case until I read some reviews. That's when I heard about the Seidio Activecase. I decided that was the case I wanted. Then I saw this thread and realized I haven't had any near disasters, but as I become more comfortable with the phone, I know they'll be coming!

I was walking outside to go to my car for my lunch break at work and naturally wanted to check my Evo. I took it out of my pocket but only got a few fingers on the phone while trying to take it out. It slipped out of said fingers and I thought I was going to have a scratched up POS by the time the horror ended, but luckily the phone fell right back into my pocket. I hadn't taken it maybe an inch out of the pocket before dropping it; so I considered it my lucky day and went on with life.

Idiot

I had just got my new EVO 4G and had it all of 12 hours and I almost lost it in grand fashion. The morning after purchasing my phone my buddies and I had a tee time. I was trying to show off the awesome video camera so I thought it would be cool to video our golf swings from a cool angle. I'm sure you can only guess as to what happened next.
I set the camera up near the tee markers (grass was not good for kick stand). First two buddies got some great video of their swings from a cool perspective. My "not so good at golf" buddy was up next. He wanted to "Happy Gilmore" his tee shot to be funny. BTW we didn't know he was going to do this. He ran, he swung and he "toed" the ball directly at my EVO. It flew past my EVO, missing it, and hit the tee marker and then slammed back at the EVO! The phone made an awful sound. I picked the phone up and it was fine!! Not a scratch. Just mud from the grass. I guess these bad boys are pretty sturdy. I got lucky.

I have a 2 yr old and I am new to the parent game. Coming from the Pre I would let my son carry my Pre and let him listen to Yo Gabba Gabba cd that I bought on Amazon. When I got my EVO, he wanted to listen to the CD. I turned it on and did not let him hold it like he always did. I started to talk to my wife and he grabs the phone and starts dancing with it. I almost lost it. He has dropped my Pre many times and my wife and I were like oooooh this is going to end bad. So, I say "AJ come here" and he runs off and start playing with his truck. I got after him and he placed the EVO in his dump truck and kept dancing. If he would of dropped it like the Pre i would of had scratches and chips on it. He loves watching Elmos World and other kiddy stuff on my EVO. Cases would be nice for a parent of a 2 yr old that likes play with phones.

Hi there! My poor phone has had TWO near misses in 1 day. While visiting my family in Maine, my very active, wild, bottle of energy 1/2 year nephew picked up my phone and took it for a spin! And before I could catch up with him he, threw it! Thankfully, it landed on the couch. Boy was I relieved! But then, (in a blonde moment) I put my purse on top of my car (my poor phone was in it), put my daughter in car seat, and started to drive off. My purse fell off the car. I stopped, and thought "oh man! My phone!" I didn't care about the rest! But it was okay! Thank goodness!

That's my story & I'm sticking to it!! :)
