two days ago i dropped my incredible. luckily my soccer instincts took over and i broke its fall with my foot. not a scratch.

This is for my wife....

She dropped her Droid Incredible on our laminate floor while walking through the house adding items to Grocery IQ. She has also knocked it off of a TV tray and I almost knocked it down the stairs (my cat-like reflexes on my part caught it inches from the ground).

Recently I actually was getting out of my car and my phone fell out of my pocket. The back of the case scraped along the cement of my driveway before it came to a stop. The HTC lettering got torn off as well as some small dirt bits got permanently lodged in the back of the case.

I might have to order a replacement back now.

A few weeks ago I was driving out to join some friends for a weekend bbq up in the mountains. I had the top down and the doors taken off my jeep for the occasion, and without paying much attention had set my Droid Incredible on top of the dashboard (there's an indentation on the dash to hold misc items). As well, the day before I had my jeep detailed and so the dash still had a slick Armor All finish on it. To my horror, the first left turn onto a busy street resulted in my Dinc zipping across the dash. Luckily my buddy in the passenger seat had quick reflexes and snatched it out of the air just as the Dinc was exiting out the passenger side of the vehicle.

Would a good case on my phone have saved it? Perhaps not, but it would have greatly increased its chances. :o

I actually broke a Treo many moons ago when I tried to remove it from a flip phone case that was not made for my model. It was so tight that when I yanked the phone out with considerable force it flew out of my hand and smashed against my office wall cracking the plastic, rendering the flip part useless. A case sort of caused the problem, actually it was my stubborn self who tried to make it fit. The proper case would have avoided the whole situation.

New to the forums, but had to send in this.

I'm a professional firefighter in Virginia. I took my Incredible only days after getting it into a house fire. The phone was on my side belt underneath my turnout gear. The hottest point that we captured on the thermal imaging camera (TIC) was about 1200 degrees. The phone itself did very well with standing the temps (The phone of course was not directly exposed to the heat); however, during our salvage and overhaul (When we clean up the house afterwards), the cheep holster I was using did fair too well when me, my airpack, and the tools I was carrying landed on the floor after I slipped. The phone survived the fall (THANK GOD!), but the charger cracked and is worthless.

I could very much go for one of those rugged cases. The last one saved my phone, but it was an extremely close call and I probably landed on it just right for it not to break. And of course, like many people, I just don't have the money to purhcase one.

I often put my phone in my lap when I drive and probably 20% of the time when I do this I end up catapulting my phone across the parking lot. A case to absorb these falls would be nice.

Great Urban Race

I was running in the Great Urban Race in Madison. It's like a scavenger hunt and race. An Android phone is a must-have for the race. All race long, I was looking things up on Google, Checking bus schedules on my Bus Radar app, finding addresses and mapping our course in Google Maps. By the end of the race, my incredible had been through a lot of bumps and bruises and was pretty well covered in sweat and dirt. A case would have definitely helped keep my droid happier.

It was a clear June day in California and I was walking my little dog on the street in the suburbs. Sun shining, music playing on my Incredible, dog peeing on everything, it was a perfect day. My dog sees a lush green lawn and decides "This is where I will poo" and assumes the position. Since he decided to do it on a lawn clearly visible to the people inside (who had their blinds up and were sitting at the table), I quickly whipped out a plastic bag to clean it up before the nice family saw my dog wreaking brown havoc on their property. Unfortunately, the inconsiderate plastic bag decided to yank my phone out along with it. I watched in horror as my incredibly incredible Incredible launched out and tumbled through midair in excruciating slow motion... into a pile of fresh warm dog turd. Despite my intentions, my cry of horror got the attention of that nice family and they all watched as I pulled my phone out of the stink pile. Though I was able to wipe most of it off, I think there's still a little stuck in that little hole at the bottom of the phone. I think a case could've prevented that.

3 or 4 times now my phone has almost slipped off my lap and onto the ground. luckily i caught it, but it needs an active case for when my reaction time is hindered.

on a side note my sisters bf has an incredible, he had it on his lap as he was exiting his car. $80 later he's got a new, self installed screen and digitizer. the optical trackball isn't lined up flush with the screen now, and the screen doesn't seem as bright to me.

Also i should win a case because crackberry never let me win anything

i work on roofs all day, my dinc fell out of my pocket and slid down 10-15 feet on the shingles and landed in the gutter thankfully. needless to say, the back of my phone ended up scratched to all hell. i need a case, BAD!

I was the proud new owner of an Incredible for one fullweek before my fiasco.... Took the Incredible, my wife, and my 1 yr old daughter on vacation to Texas. On the second day we used Google Navigation to get us to where we wanted to go. My wife was holding the phone (it's important to know that). She was navigating while I was driving. Anyways, we stop at our destination and I pop the trunk to get the stroller out while she grabs the baby. Unfortunately, my wife had put my brand new Incredible on the trunk of our car and it went FLYING! Before I knew it, I was staring at my "new" phone on the concrete, entirely shattered with another case also in pieces (a case I have not used since). Somehow the phone still wired, but often lefts shards of glass in my fingers. Long story short, I was able to get the screen fixed (after waiting to get it back for a month) and am good to go. Still looking for the perfect case though!

One time I was getting out of my friend's car with my Incredible in my hand, and dropped it on the pavement :( minor scratches on top, and not even through my 30 day period with Verizon!

I had my Inc. on a music stand when a violinist walked by and knocked my stand over. The Inc. sustained a few scratches on the top corner. A case probably would have prevented the scratches. By the way, did I tell you I hate violinists. lol

Golf Fail

Decided to play a round of golf a few weeks after receiving my DInc. I didn't have a case for it, so I didn't want to put it in the golf cart cupholder as usual, so I put it in my pocket. I also put golf tees in my pocket...you see where this is going. I now have 2 lovely scratches on the screen...epic golf fail!

In the East coast bake this week, our AC went out and fans just didn't seem enough. So we decided that the shade outside was the place to be with cold drinks and popsicles for the kids!

What I didn't think about were the bugs that those drinks and popsicles would attract. Clutching my phone in normal fashion, I screamed and swung at one wasp which wouldn't go away. My grip is usually really firm on my Incredible but not that day. I swung at the wasp and my phone went flying. It hit the top and bottom corner of one side. I dove after my poor baby :( but it now has scratches on those corners.

So now I sit in my fixed AC typing this and looking at my incredible Incredible and feel sad that I could have been so careless. Every time I hold it, I rub the corners. It feels so foreign.

A case would have been great before, but even better now.

After I had just gotten my Inc, everyone in my family wanted to see it. Well, my sister isn't the best at handling electronics and sure enough, she dropped it. It thankfully only fell on the table and didn't get anything more than a scratch. I can be a bit ridiculous about my electronics getting messed up, especially on the first day but I said the heck with it. It was just something minor and it didn't affect the screen. Still wish I had a case though! :P

One hour after getting my phone and setting it up went out to cut grass. I saw something in the grass and to my disbelief it was my brand new phone in about a hundred pieces. Forgot about hole in my pocket. I put all the pieces in a plastic bag and went to the VZW service counter and asked if he could help me getting it working again. The look on his face was priceless when I dumped the parts on the counter. Insurance is a wonderful thing.

I got an Incredible for my wife as an early Mother's Day present. It fit more snugly into her Vera Bradley clutch purse than did her LG Voyager. One of the first times she tried to get it out of the purse pocket, she tugged and tugged and tugged until it suddenly came free, and shot out the door of the F150 as we had pulled into the driveway. Thank goodness we weren't moving, or it would have been a goner for sure! The best part? The matter-of-fact statement from her... "What? It was stuck!" as though that was reason enough to throw a several hundred dollar phone out of the truck! Ha!

it was a warm summer night, I had just left my group of friends to head home from the movie theater. I pull my Incredible out of my pocket to check the time, 8:45, if i was to make it home in time for the android central podcast i was going to have to hurry. To my right i see a dark alley, i know it would get me home faster, however, this was a regular hangout of the iPhone ninjas. I breathe deeply and cautiously head down the alley. After i pass the dumpster POW! 3 of these iNinjas surround me. "Is that an iPhone?" one ninja asks, pointing to the Incredible i was still clutching in my hand. "no" I said "it's better". "Better then the iPhone?" another ninja laughingly quirks "do you know who your messing with fan boy?" as he punches me in the face. I blind him with my beautiful AMOLED screen and BOOM judo chop he's down, "two more to go" i say. PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH from ninja 2, all 3 are kinda slow, I come back with PUNCH KICK HEADBUTT. "see, multitasking is worth it." With one left i turn to him "your 1GHZ snapdragon processor is fast i see" says the last ninja, "lets see how you do against my Flash Bash!". "My weak point! I don't have froyo yet!" i cry. Laughing he tries to send me to hulu. "NOOO.." Then i remember that is his weak spot also. Quickly i point him to Flash.com and CRASH! almost instantly the last one falls. I look at the time 8:52. "still time" and as i go to put my phone back in my pocket it slips out my hand and onto the concrete ground. "If only i had a case" i said, kicking the last ninja on the ground in frustration before continuing home.
