Costco Bionic Help

But what are the chances that Samsung would release a GSII on Verizon with LTE when they just released the Charge???

Very little. But, it's not really about the Charge per se. It's more about the form factor of the GSII not being able to support the current generation of LTE radios.

Well that is true as well, but I also do not see any company who just invested so much money into a device and release another device to replace it so soon.

I'm actually also thinking about going ahead and doing a new contract with Costco (I'm currently out of contract) and getting the Charge. My only worry is that the Bionic will not come out within that 90 time span...

It does seem rather risky though, what happens if Costco decides not to honor the 90 return or the Bionic releases after the 90 days is up?

Then the **** hits the fan. Ebay charge. :/ or wait for a better phone

Or the Bionic may have a DX2/Atrix screen and/or a locked bootloader, and come out after tiered data hits, and you won't want to exchange it anyway.

Is this a no questions asked policy or do you have to have "reasons" why you are returning it.

Person I bought my phone from said that you need a reason to return the phone, i.e., defective. =(

But it sounds like every phone has some kind of bug you could blame for dissatisfaction and cite as a reason to return: bad reception, bad battery, gets hot, ...

I called two different Costcos today and they both stated that for verizon the phone had to be defective for you to get the exchange and even if you got the exchange you would recieve the same model back. I emailed corporate hoping to clarify this issue because it doesnt line up with what is said online and by some people in this thread.

This would be a help. Please post back with results.

Received email back from corporate and it said nothing confirming if online is the same as in-store. I think its ridiculous if in-store and online have two different policies. Ugh!

I guess my question for the people who work at a Costco kiosk is there something you were told to say to customers asking about this policy instead of what is said online? and does it even matter that i'm with verizon and not some other provider?

Look Costco.com is a separate entity from Costco, and the wireless company in Costco is a third party retailer. We have no control over Costco.com. If your are unhappy with the difference in policy, then go in store to purchase it.

So is it then up to the people in the kiosk what their policy for exchanges are? I'm just confused because several people on here have said the people they spoke to follow the 90 day exchange but the people i spoke to dont.

Don't forget they could be telling you they don't exactly to avoid abuse. Whether they have that right, I don't know.

That was my initial impression but after calling another costco near me they said the exact same thing the first store said. Its just confusing. I just want to be able to go to store and buy it and not have to worry about them saying I cant exchange it when the bionic comes out.

If I bought the Charge with the $120 off coupon and then turned around and bought the Bionic when it came out, would I have to pay the full difference or would I still save that $120?

I would guess you would have to pay the full difference.

I'm curious how many people have talked to the people in store and said their exchange program is the same that is said online?

If I do not like my phone, can I exchange my phone for another phone?

Costco.com's exchange policy for cellular phones is 90 days from date of purchase. During the exchange process you will be charged the full retail price for your replacement phone until your original purchase has been returned to us. Upon receipt and processing of your original device we will refund the full price of your replacement phone.

I think I'll take the road less traveled and not actually abuse the system and just wait for the Bionic if I really want it...

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that costco might decide to not even carry the bionic at there store. They don't carry every verizon phone now. So what are you going to do if you buy the charge and then never sell the bionic there? food for thought!
