Until now it was co named the prime! Troll eh?![]()
I can understand delays when the device hasn't even shipped, I do not understand delays when there are boxes of the things sitting in stores all over the US now, from the sounds of it... help me understand why Verizon is still delaying it... it's a Nexus so software updates come from Google, right? Not Verizon... so we shouldn't be waiting on a software update that would be installed after purchase?
We've all had plenty of time to break down and get one of their other devices by now, so what is the holdup?
omg who cares what he called it. where he works, they've obviously gotten their shipment in of the Galaxy Nexus.
ezduzit: any news at all from your camp about the release or when you can sell the phone?
since there actually was a nationwide LTE outage, Verizon probably wanted to ensure stability in their LTE network when the Galaxy Nexus launches, especially when you need to activate the LTE Sim card for each g-nex. but since the LTE network is back up and running, i'm sure we'll see an announcement and release very soon.
Verizon has obviously been very picky with the release of the G-nex, more so than other phones, so they definitely don't want anything to hinder/screw-up the release. How bad would it have looked for Verizon if they had actually released the G-nex on the 9th and nationwide reports start flowing in about everyone having problems activating their phones (due to, hypothetically, there still being LTE network issues preventing SIM cards from being activated)?

Regardless of how many pictures you post, the problem is you didn't even call the device by its correct name. Tough to rebuild credibility after that..
No release date, software issues as of now.

That is the most likely cause of the delay. If the LTE network was down upon the Nexus being sold, Verizon would likely be dealing with a lot of product returns and unhappy customers.
Some internal best Buy documents call the phone the nexus prime. So alot of bby mobile guys call it the prime. We got our shipment today as well. Or so my coworker says. We usually get truck on tuesdays and thursday so it makes sense.
Geez, some of you are a holes.
@Ezduzit, the other problem is you posted the picture after the first post, which was worthless and uninformative in so many ways.
While the majority of us here in this forum most certainly appreciate the picture and all the worthwhile info you have given us (and that includes me), you started off pretty horrendously...
think before you post please...
ok makes sense, they only have 3G where I live so they should sell it to us TODAY!!!
Here's my latest communication w/Verizon... just now:
Luis: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
You: I live in an area w/only 3G I will be able to upgrade to Galaxy Nexus when it is available, correct?
Luis: Correct.
You: no idea when it will be available?
Luis: Tomorrow.
AWESOME thanks so much:
Luis: You're welcome.
Luis: Did you have any other questions?
You: no thanks, have a good rest of your day
Luis: You too.
Luis: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless; it?s been a pleasure chatting with you. Have a great day!
