Custom SMS Notification sounds?

Trying to install a custom SMS notification sound on my N5 (using RingDroid). All I get is a generic ding, it doesn't actually play the custom sound. (Atari 2600 Kaboom! - Atari 2600 kaboom with sound - YouTube )

Anyone do this yet? What app are you using to generate the file?

Save it to the notifications folder in your root directory as an MP3. Then select it as the default from your SMS app.

If there is still a problem it might have to do with the MP3's formatting. But I have gotten mine to play a variety of MP3s this way.

same results as you, to get custom sounds i used "ringtone maker" from the play store...

Well, I didn't do anything different, but I just noticed a new file in the settings area with almost the same name. I picked it, et voila, it works. no idea why.
