Cyanogenmod 6 Test 4 HeroC

Got VVM working. Now for some more questions. I am missing the part of sense that when you enter the first few numbers of the phone number that brings up the contact/recent number. I am also missing the nice clock widget that was on sense. Anything that comes close that will do that? Thanks for all the help.

Sprint VVM

Here is the apk for VVM you have to blacklist 9016 using handcent or you will get 2 notifications when you get a voicemail

In my naivety, I thought the VVM was only available to ROMs using HTC Sense. Is this the same VVM as stock? This may remove the last reason for me not to grab a Froyo build.

VVM works just fine on this build. I do want nascar. I also have figured out a wireless tether app yet either. Lot more work with this one to get the phone as I like it. HoneyBun was much more simple!

I recommend to anyone reading this thread to use Google voice as your voicemail. It is visual voicemail. It also stores all your messages in the cloud, and is free on any smartphone. That means that if you flash a rom a day you will still have all your messages right there. you never have to worry if VVM works in that build - voice will. If you decide to buy a new phone or flash a rom just enter your username and password. It has other cool stuff it does also, but anyone who flashes ROMS should give it a try.

To active Google Voice as your cellphone voicemail look under settings after you log into voice from the computer. It will give you a string that you dial from the phone to move voicemail from sprint to google. This type of forwarding is free, and voice is free.

Here is a wireless tether that works with this rom and fancy widget which is just like the clock and weather in sense

The Fancy Widget is great. No weather animation, but still cool.

One more. The stock ROMs have the google calender on one of the home screens. I can't seem to find that widget. Is it HTC specific too?

Pretty sure that it is.

Sent from my CDMA Hero running CM6. Got me some hot froyo on hero action!

Just started using this last night and really like it. The only thing I miss is the HTC keyboard. I like to use the compact qwerty keyboard and stock google doesn't have it. Anyway to get that back? I'm trying better keyboard but not really liking it.

Search for the HTC IME keyboard - I don't know if they got the new versions working in this yet, but download version 1.5. It doesn't have voice input, but other than that it works great.

Worked perfectly. Thanks so much. Saved me a few bucks.

Now that this has been out for a while, any thoughts? Good/bad/ugly? More importantly, stable? Fast? Slow?

I am new to the rooting/custom ROM world and CM6 is the first and only ROM (other than stock) i've had installed on my phone. CM6 seems pretty stable and a nice improvement over stock in terms of speed/lack of sluggish performance. The only complaint I really have is it seems like I had better batter life with stock than with CM6. This might be because I seem to be playing around with my phone a lot more know changing all the settings to just the way I like them though.

I've been reading about the Collin_ph battery tweak but I'm confused as to what exactly it does. It sounds to me like it changes your processor speed based upon the needs of the phone. Have you noticed a drop off in performance with the tweak?
