Doesn't always help. I did that at one point with a three hard drive setup; they all failed at about the same time (like within a 24 hour period), and one was less than a year old. The data was non-recoverable on them.
He is doing it for free, so I'd cut him some slackSince I assume he also has a job of some sort to support his Android development, and honestly after working on something all day you really just want to relax.
He could just not work on it at allThough if it's something easy to do that he's just being too lazy about doing, by all means, go ahead and finish up the work yourself. I'm eager to see how it turns out.
There are no directions on how to port it so its definately not easy. And yes, I have a full time job testing E9-1-1 mapping software......
