Doesn't always help. I did that at one point with a three hard drive setup; they all failed at about the same time (like within a 24 hour period), and one was less than a year old. The data was non-recoverable on them.

He is doing it for free, so I'd cut him some slack :P Since I assume he also has a job of some sort to support his Android development, and honestly after working on something all day you really just want to relax.

He could just not work on it at all :P Though if it's something easy to do that he's just being too lazy about doing, by all means, go ahead and finish up the work yourself. I'm eager to see how it turns out.

There are no directions on how to port it so its definately not easy. And yes, I have a full time job testing E9-1-1 mapping software......

smccloud, all you do now is ***** about your crashed SD now. Too bad an Optimus dev has been reduced to a whiner.

1. Stop.
2. Get a new hd
3. Get back on the ball with CWN/CM/AOSP
4. Profit.

That's a bit harsh for someone who is doing this on their own time/for free, and one who, IMHO, is only contributing to this forum.

what profit no one donates. or at least i never got a donation ;p

I've gotten a couple small ones to help offset the cost of a development Optimus S. Not enough to get one yet though. Still greatly appreciated though :)

Steve Kondik, aka Cyanogen, still works a full time 8-5 non-android ROM related job lol. Theres no money in 3rd party recovery/rom/root/kernel development. If i recall, by the time unrevoked 3 came out that entire team had received $1,100 in donations. Think about how many phones that software has rooted to put it into perspective (well over 100k). I'm not sure what it's up to now and i certainly hope it's higher.

[SOAPBOX]We, I, Don't do this for the $. That's a nice thing when it happens. I personally do it for the thrill of knowing someone out there that I have never met is looking at my work thinking it rocks. It's that rush that does it for me. Remember the feeling right before you release a piece of work upon the community? You developed it, you tested it, you worked it to death! Then you release it. To me, it's a better high than any drug can produce. Nobody can take that away from me, i love it.[/SOAPBOX]

Only problem I have with CM6 is that it is slower on my Hero than Stock was.

That's strange, stock was unbearably slow, but cm6 always ran great for my hero... Would love to see cyanogen on the optimus.

I dunno how much this will help you guys but they have an alpha version on xda for the P500. I already jumped the gun and asked mike_os if we could use what use his alpha as long as we give him credit. I know the phones are different but surely some of the drivers and what not are the same and most of his build is working.

[DEV][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 7 alpha (Android 2.3) - xda-developers

Ill let you know what he says if/when he replies to me. I go by anonamoose on both forums lol. I hope like hell this helps some but if not ill keep my eyes and ears peeled.

Words of wisdom. I love learning how things work and seeing my creation benefit others. The occasional donation is just a nice gesture that buys me ramen and coffee to fuel my hobby.

Btw, 5 people mistaked cyanogenmod for super aids.

Quick random note beofre I leave to pickup my wife from work.... why the hell are there 5 no's?! Anyone who voted No and reads this would you mind telling me why you voted No? I can't see how anyone would not want a ROM if you don't like it don't flash it but the more Roms the better ....

lol i was kinda wondering the same thing. who would vote no?

only thing i can think is people aren't interested in CM6. they want CM7. but i could be way off lol.

Well, CM6 will be hard enough to do. CM7 will be worse since there are no 2.3 drivers for the Optimus S yet.....

lol we know that but i'm sure there are about 5 people, atleast, that don't know that lol.

but i'm just speculating lol.
