Screen cracked falling from a foot to the floor. I don't know why samsung decide to make a the front all glass (they really do copy apple) when they know the Apple phones crack easy cuz of a full front screen.. Piece of crap device

Ok now, lets be realistic. Brainwashing is declaring apple is the greatest, fact is that samsung use to make the Iphone parts. When apple decided to sue samsung they stopped making there parts and apple went to a taiwan company. How do you think apple knows what is infringed on, because samsung made them for them. So yes i do agree samsung is very apple influenced all the way down to the touchwiz interface. No one can deny apple makes a quality product, its just to simple and dumb for us android users, samsung screen technology is original but the way its manufactured is not. This is why HTC phones use the thin glass technology with corning gorilla glass covering, to protect these accidents from happening

Smh RAZR was made after the iphone

Honestly by your logic everyone is copying everyone since someone did it first. So damn iphone for copying the first ever invented cell phone and damn you samsung for making tvs! Khaaaaannnnnn!

Because they like the look of guess? It goes good with the screen? Not sure. But honestly I'd say majority of smart phones are fragile. Sure some people have dropped a smartphone that's naked and survived but majority are "oh man it shatteted".

It just depends on how it fell. Look at cnets stress test of the S3. They threw the phone in the air and dropped it 2 more times without a shatter... Just depends on angel.

And this is also why there are cases for phones. I have a generic one with a lip on the front so if I drop it face down the screen won't hit. Sure it's possible if I drop it an angel and it hits a corner it could be damaged but it's less of a chance. Smartphones are just not meant to be dropped.. They make all of em to thin nowadays.

There are lots of phones with an all glass front screen.

I between my daughter and I, we have dropped our gs3's dozens of times from much higher than that. Our screens are almost prestine but no cracks.

Your phone must have hit just right.

I will admit that the GS3 is no where near as resilient as the original galaxy S or the GS2. I think its a pretty bone head design mistake to make the front glass the highest point of the front side of the phone. There is no bezel to absorb the shock before the glass contacts the ground, once it falls on the corner or the front side, the screen is done. If you pay attention to the older Galaxy phones, the bezel is slightly raised above the screen, now those phones took a beating and would ask for more. I will never run this phone without a case.

Oh geez, do we really need another flame war thread? You're posting an "Apple is better because" question in the SIII sub forum, what kind of response do you think you're going to get?

I don't think anyone is flaming. Quite frankly if you knew how long upstreammiami has been a member and how much he's contributed maybe you would realize he's not stupid. He has been on front Page of Android Central and when there were rankings he was as high as it went. He's helped countless people root and fix phones, so maybe he has a tad bit of knowledge to back hos claims up

I don't remember any kind of a bezel on the og epic. The screen was flush just like the GS3.
