Quick question...if i am running TR 1.7 (VC, of course) do I still need to do a full wipe if I flash this? Every time I flash a new ROM, I loathe setting all my apps up again.

You can try just flashing right over the top. The framework is built from the same source so give it a go ahead. Always make a nand backup first though.

Cool! That's what I was thinking. I think I'll try it once y'all get the kernels up. Having the ability to have LCD density changed in this version is very appealing to me. :-D

Hmm, time to give this one a shot, but I have a few questions (apologies for any dupes, it's a sizable thread):

Are there any compatibility issues in running an lcd-density-altered build prop? I recall reading a bit about it in some other rom's thread over at xda, and it included warnings about breaking a few small graphical details (overscrolling effects and the rotary lockscreen, in that case, iirc).

I see the kernels are down for rebuilding, but what are the differences between beezy and xionia kernels?

Well there is a difference in the fact that LEGO-ROM was running older software and nROM was updated to the newer software. I bet if you install LEGO-ROM-v2 you'll have the same speeds as long as you have the same set up.

Save your breath lol.

tempting...

I know with what I'm currently running I can do a shutdown without any problems... but I don't have the flexability I want... ;) (have a self deodexed stock image)...

Your image is probably built from the same source (VC if i had to guess) so make a nand backup and play around a bit. Shouldn't be a need to wipe data just flash and play dude! Tinker around and if you dont like just flash your image back over or restore.

I ran into a few issues with my Hero when I was using it with a LCD-density altered build.prop. The main issues were items like a few news applications that didn't display correctly (black bars around all sides), and aldiko book reader that would start chopping off pages as you scrolled through a book. All I can say, give it a shot for awhile, see how it works... I'm tempted to see if there's any difference with this phone vs. the Hero in how it handles.

Do you have to wipe data if you switch from the original version of lego Rom? (Yes i am aware i have to change basbands but i was going to try the robchaos way where you don't lose your data because it seems like the easiest way to do it)

I think THIS is the link for the thread on how to do that? If so, doing that method people aren't wiping so they retain their data. Should be fine. I would add a note though that if anything weird or crazy ever happens it might be best to just do a full wipe then flash the ROM but people seem to use that method without any issue.

Ok now i have another question could i restore a backup from the v 9 version because then i could do it the way mentioned earlier but wipe my data and then just restore the backup at the end right?

Nope, once you change your baseband to VC kiss V9 backups goodbye. If you want to go back to v9 afterwards you'd have to force flash it so you have the v9 radio because nand backups don't backup the radio. If you force flashed back to v9 then you could use those backups though.

Flashing Lego V2 over TR 1.7 right now. Trying it without wiping data. Just cache and dalvik. I'll post an update in a bit.

Update-- Boot Animation is sweet. So far so good.

Update-- Everything booted and is working great. (That I can tell) Not wiping Data, worked for me. Thanks again, Beezy, KSmith, and Nick7 (and everyone else for that matter).

I'm addicted to this place and it's all your fault.

Yeah, I built it from my original stock nandroid backup...

I'll try just flashing this over the top... I nandroided earlier, and downloaded earlier...

I'll putz with it tomorrow... (will give me something to do...)

Sigh ... Figures lol. I'm fairly sure LG/Sprint/Google watch these forums closely and release when it's the most inconvenient time. Good play LG, good play.

hopefully it's not too much of a problem and we can flash lego v2 right over it...:-\

i mean if drew was able to flash tr1.7 with no problems theoretically would there be a problem why lego wouldn't?
