idk the latest release was so buggy i got annoyed and went back to my VCRom >.> I think I may be retiring from this.

I hope you don't quit this build you are doing a great job at porting this but if you do which is more stable nrom or thunderrom. Legorom was the most stable for me but I don't wanna go back to v9

I hope you don't quit doing this. Honestly for me this is the smoothest ROM i have ever tried, and it really works for me. Nothings is perfect in life, it just need some touches little by little, but you are really giving a lot in this ROM :)

I'm really happy with it, also i notice some things can be fixed just in regular settings, for example for me the screen works really good during a call, texting works fine too.

Courage and ANIMO!!! (spanish :P)

Maybe, if people would quit complaining about small incidental things, the developers that help with this project wouldn't get discouraged. This is a work in progress and there is no due date.

Report bugs, with the Google issue tracker and go on about your business. If it's not stable enough, use a different ROM. I am sure that doesn't hurt zefie's feelings.

I am not actively developing this, and I was dis-heartened with the whining about the proximity sensor issue spread across the last three pages.

As good as Zefie's work is with GB, I'm surprised that no one from LG has taken the time to offer a hands to help. Zefie is in effect doing their leg work, so maybe there should be some kickback. Does anyone know who to contact at LG to make this happen? I donated a couple of dollars to the cause, but I'm sure if it were a fulltime paid project, we could hammer this out in about "2 weeks" ;)

Sorry, I guess I'm to blame for restarting the proximity sensor bit....I wasn't whining, just wanting to make sure it wasn't just me before making waves in the Issue Tracker. I thought it better to discuss the issue here, then update the tracker, to ensure the Tracker didn't get clouded with a lot of chit-chat.

If that was the wrong way to handle it, my apologies...I really like this ROM, and really hope development continues! (I know nothing about programming, so the best I can do is use and give feedback).

You weren't whining. Whining was that guy who complained about the awesome boot animation. You were giving feedback on a new release. Obviously the proximity sensor is behaving differently in this release (for me it is behaving much better than before, for you it is not as good as before), and this is a good place to discuss your observations.

So yea after a fresh reboot I got that proximity thing started working again just an fyi

Bug Reporting

Sorry if I came across the wrong way, I guess I felt that much posting of an issue that was already reported in the bug tracker was a bit much. I thought that Bug tracker was exactly for that, reporting bugs.

We flash a new version, bug persists, we report it in the tracker. That way, zefie does not have to look through pages of comments on what isn't working, he can simply look in the bug tracker.

Just my two cents...

I think the only "legit" way to get swype on this is to have a beta account for swype... (not sure if it's open or closed at this point...)

Edit: and I'm very impressed with everything you guys have accomplished in getting this rolling as is... :)

i was able to open a beta account for swype and install it but i had to reinstall the keyboard after every power cycle and sometimes just because. It would flake out on me by just flashing the perimeter of the screen at me and not actually entering anything. since i didn't want to add any problem causing apps to my phone with this pre-beta ROM i found a new keyboard....same thing when i ran into problems with chomp not being able to attach pics directly from the camera.

short story...you can get swype but it may not work right for you anyway.

Disable the stock keyboard (gingerbread) by unchecking it in the options menu and the perimeter flash will go away. I had the same problem to temporarly make it go away you could switch to gingerbread and then back to swype. Disabling gingerbread makes it work permamnently

I want you all to know I will still make nightlies when there are major CM7 updates and I may start optimus specific work again but right now I'm keeping my old VCRom on my phone.

Also this is no one's fault. The latest build seems to be a double edged sword where it works awesome for some, and fails horribly for others. For me, everything kept FC, calls wouldn't go through, and the entire system froze once (I never seen an android hard lock like that before)

So yeah, I am taking a break from having buggy unstable stuff on my phone and enjoying a working, stable ROM for now. (even if VCRom only worked right for me, lol)

Anyone is welcome to take over the Optimus S CM7 project, but if you want to PM me. And please, only if you know how. I'm not a teacher :P

might sound dumb but...i wonder if there is some minor hardware differences causing some this oddness and general inconsistency with how everyone's phone reacts to each new version. Or is it more likely that its just the 4 or 5 different possible paths to get from stock sprint to cm7....

Phones are also not really designed to be flashed with new firmware every other day :P

mine probably just needs a break, you guys flashed about once a night until i slowed down. I flashed over 20 times some days to squash bugs, so my NAND needs a break lol.

mine probably just needs a break..

as do you probably.. thanks for all the awesome work getting this project as far as it is, and best of luck to those who take charge from here (I swear, come summer, I'm taking a crash course on all this dev work so I'll be of more use to the community apart from troubleshooting and making random guesses in an attempt to make things work!)

Hate to hear this latest update sucks for some of you, it works great for me. I guess that's just the kind of thing that happens you're flashing nightlies of an OS that isn't officially supported on your phone yet (by anyone)..

Awwh :( I was really looking forward to more nightly updates that will make the phone better :( before I had the previous nightly and it didn't work for me so I changed to NRom but saw an update to this come out. This rom works really fast and the phone when I get calls or make them works wonderful... I'll stick with this rom anyways :)

X2 this rom is running well enough for me for daily use.

Zefie I hope someday you pick this up again!
