Hey zeffie I'm curious what kind of problems your running into, my brothers phone had been doing some odd stuff and I'm wondering if yours is similiar

I've been running v9 since the first nightly, and had as few or fewer problems than most people in the thread.

Also, vd's out, so forget vc.

Zefie, I have been noticing a severe lag when I dial a number on the Sprint carrier (I didn't test this with my VOIP connection). Sometimes, it will take up to 30 seconds to connect the call. Any chance this is something in the ROM (maybe tower polling) that you can fix or at least improve on? I wasn't sure how to add to the Google Issue Tracker so I have pasted the concern here. Thanks for your hard work!

Just got a random phone call from work, no issues that I've seen described here :D

So reiterating - this ROM might be experimental, but it's awesomely not too buggy ^^

Glad to see I'm not the only lazy one who decided to be lazy and stick to v9.. :p Oh, and latest build here works just as well as it ever has (which is pretty damn close to perfect for me).

Also, for those of you who were fond of the original cm7 boot animation, or just want to spice things up a bit, thought I'd throw something else into the mix (the more the merrier, right?) I came across this sick boot animation on xda, which was tweaked from another post in some other xda thread, then I went ahead and changed the size parameters of it to fit on the optimus' smaller screen, and voila (one green, one cyan):

preview-cyan.gif

Note: ALL credit goes to xda's Dysgenic for making the original, and to aph for tweaking it to make it run smoother. But with that said, here are both options, with the sizes altered for us:

Link to cyan version

Again, I'm not trying to say either of the other two boot animations are bad (because they're not - I really do love both!), this is just yet another option. All you need to do is rename whichever one you want to use as bootanimation.zip and replace the original with it in /system/media (you might want to backup the original one, but it won't brick if you mess up - it'll just give you a blank screen instead of the animation). You could probably do this in root explorer, I decided to push it over with adb. Either method works fine. Have fun!

EDIT: Updated the links, because rapidshare sucks.

I'm just curious....and please don't take this as sarcasm...but did you even read through the threads in this forum?

In any case, this is one of the most popular threads on here right now:

flashing phone too many times risks permanent damage to memory chips that hold t he firmware. i flash many more times thank you guys have to and it is the only theory i can come up with for the lingering problems i still have even on stock-based roms. while the damage seems minimal and tolerable it is obviously different from when i first got it so I would say something changed somewhere :P NAND is just an assumption I have no proof or anything.

It is compiling now, if there are no errors, yes.

In general, Flash memory can be written to ~ 100k times...

However, there are lots of little quirks that can boost that number of writes.

I'm currently building a new "nightly" for this. I won't be able to test a lot though since I don't actively use my Optimus S anymore.

Err, I'm trying to.

Fun :-)....what's the new nightly have over 310?

And sad news that you don't use your Optimus S any more....what have you moved on to? You and Zefie were the two big resources for CM7 here, (my apologies to others if I'm wrong), and with him worrying about his NAND and taking a break, and you out, I'm afraid my favorite ROM may fall by the wayside :-(.

Thanks for all your work, in any case!

Not sure what it has, I just want to make sure I can compile it ;)

I'm going to keep my Optimus S, just had a falling out w/ Sprint. I went to Verizon and the Droid R2D2.

Only if I update my phone to VD, might but since I messed up my dev box maybe not.

Ok, Please let us know. I'd like to try this ROM, but can't because of the display issue. I'm still on AOSP's Optimus V GB ROM from xda (with a few tweaks to make it work better for the Optimus S).

Thanks
