Ok. What are u doing exactly. What baseband version u running on are u rooted..... as we speak I'm. Using this Tom so far I'm on 2.3.3 with mms working and everything else I haven't check portible hotspots. But I can assured. U that it works.



Now try doin a wipe completely use another sdcard if u have an extra on put the files debug,rom, gapps .. in this order. Do it it should work

I am rooted, baseband says unknown but I know it was VD, using cwma, 2.3.3, mms works. I know it works its the fact that every time I restore all of my apps and data using titanium and then I reboot trying to change the theme it gets stuck on the headbanging animation.

Ive been doing a complete wipe/data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, then flashing debug, rom, gapps.

Ill do a complete wipe and try it again with a completely different sd card. I even reformatted the current card I'm using and then put all my data back on it and it still gets stuck.

I haven't run into this problem before personally, but have read that sometimes switching between ROMS, especially between different Android versions, restoring DATA with the apps causes problems. See if it works restoring the apps WITHOUT the data. It's worth a shot.

gk is right about restoring data from a 2.2.2 based rom .....from apps should be okay, but not any system data. Also what kind of theme r you trying to load up? R u using the theme Chooser or trying to flash a theme from Reborn? I haven't tried any of the awesome themes from reborn on cm7, but I don't think they'll work....cm7 themes usually load through the Themes Chooser and apply right away.

Flashing any theme from any 2.2 rom will not work on CM7. CM7 is based on gingerbread framework, which varies from Froyo framework quite a bit. When you flash a theme from 2.2 roms you are replacing the framework and it will not work. You will either need to find a flashable theme designed for gingerbread or download a CM theme from the market and use the theme chooser.

Just wanted to give an update on a new build for this rom. I cannot get it to compile no matter what I do. I keep getting hit by a "make: no rule to make 'bacon'" error. I even tried using code from February, March and April. I think something changed in the CM tree that is causing the error becuase I have successfully compiled this code before (on 4/28). I have reached out to some people on the CM team, but have not received a response yet. I am hoping that someone will reply soon. In the meantime I an downloading the actual android source and going to try my hand at getting it to compile for our phone. I'm not sure if I can do it or not because I am not that experienced and some things are just over my head, which will require some time to research. Hopefully soon though. I just don't have a time frame because I can only work on this at work. I have no free time at home, lol.

Just a thought, are you compiling under 64 or 32bit? I know 32bit had errors ccompiling and it needs to be done on 64. Since I don't have a 64 machine that's about as far as I got lol

64bit. I have successfully compiled the code before. Just can't do it now. I have no clue what might have been changed by cyanogen that would cause the issue. Since I am using old source code of zefie's which built before, the only new stuff that is getting added to the sync is all from Cyanogen sources.

Hotspot broke after 0419... You have to use that version If you want hotspot

I had the exact same problem my 1st time.. you did it right most likely.. just reflash it all again in order as it is listed

1) Flash Debug-FormatSYSTEM.zip
2) Then flash the currently NIGHTLY
3) Then flash Google Apps
4) reboot

then it should work fine. when I did it the 1st time it just hung on the bootscreen and wouldnt go past it, so I just redid it and it worked great:-$

well i did the steps again nd it did the exact same thing again i got so fustrated that i went back to reborn rom :-\ lol

Im sure you all already know that builds after 04192011 have errors with the portable hotspot feature not working (I just learned that today lol). I tried the "Barnacle wifi tethering" app, which is free on the market, and connected to Xbox live, and downloaded updated roster's for MLB 2K11 without issue. I'm using build 04282011. I'm sure you guys probably have figured out ways to get that feature working but I didn't want to switch builds as I like my phone as it is now. One odd thing maybe you guys can help me figure out, my Xbox recognized the barnacle network and connected flawlessly but my girlfriends Droid Eris didn't recognize the network. It doesn't matter as she has Verizon and internet through them but kind sierra that my Xbox 360 could connect on another floor in the house but her phone which was 5 feet away didnt even pull it up as a network. Anyhow, Barnacle is a great app

I'm honestly don't know. I don't even know the difference. My problem was I use build 04282011 and there's a error with the portable hotspot feature on this build. I was told I need to use 04192011 to use that feature. But I had a lot of help installing this in the first place and don't wanna screw anything up switching to 04192011. I only use barnacle for my Xbox 360 and only for a little at a time

Dude knows his stuff and he's developed themes for reborrn. From what I know you would make a backup, download the build you want and put it on root of sd, flash it from recovery and reboot. had that issue a couple times, just did a reboot and everything showed up\

edit---these were new files that i had added...never had an issue of stock player not reading any files.....
