I got the same thing. Uninstalling it fixed it. I also had to uninstall quick boot to get an update. This may be an issue with preinstalled apps.
Sprint logo on start up stays, crickets chirping during start up is gone. Yes you're running Thunder Rom, the only other rom for this phone is a black theme. Additionally in the other rom, titled nROM, while, in some versions of nROM, sprint id is disabled, the icon is still to the right of the apps tray. Thunder rom, unless you have changed the background, also has the android central android as the background and on the lock screen. There are a LOT of changes in thunder rom but the easiest way to tell if its thunder is if sprint id is to the right of the apps or not. If not its Thunder rom.
It will happen with any app that we compressed and signed. This causes the app to have a smaller footprint and use less resources. It's not a problem because for the 6 months you use the phone and don't update those apps (because those apps aren't updated often) you enjoy the additional space it gives you.
To prevent confusion, in the next version which is currently being tested we stopped doing this. There are also some reorganization which will give a person doing a fresh flash 160mb on first boot so you will not be losing the space by us not compressing.
Another thing I noticed after upgrading to 1.4 is that the Hotspot Widget does not seem to work. When I add it to my desktop, instead of seeing the bar at the top of the widget that tells you if it is on or off, it is just a blank grey box. Pressing it does nothing. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the market, but it does the same thing. Going in to my wireless settings and trying to enable the portable wifi hotspot there gives me a "network is unavailable" error after thinking for about 5 seconds. 3g data and wifi do work independently, so I think it is an issue with the tethering itself.
Actually, after further testing, it appears to be a general issue with widgets. The google search bar is unresponsive and two other widgets I added (calendar, NPR streaming widget) also don't pull data or respond to tapping them.
Must be something with your phone. I just upgraded did a DV Cac and normal cac wipe upgraded and everything works just fine.. This was sent from the wireless teather using my laptop.

Does Swype still work with the Gingerbread keyboard?
The only issue that I'm not sure about is the issue with the missing desktop icons, as I re-added them before I rebooted. Perhaps they would have shown up if I rebooted before re-adding them.
Anyway, sorry for any alarm I caused!
I can confirm that mine didn't make it either. I did first boot followed by second reboot. None of my icons, widgets, folders made it through the flash. I think it has to do with launcher replacement. V1.4 ROM uses gingerbread launcher and older versions used another type. not a big deal. I like new animations and effects though. Nice job
