Just extract them to your sdcard, then you can choose them.

How's the apps2sd support coming along?

So far I am seeing two issues. Not sure if others have experienced

a) The 3G connections seem to disconnect randomly and somewhat slow. Everything from google search, app market takes long time. Sometimes half way through download, I loose connection.
b) By default everything goes in Landscape mode. Switching from Landscape to Portrait mode switching takes a long time

Any thoughts?

Sorry, my bad. I had too many forum windows open. This was meant for the person who helped me about wallpaper installation.

The first of two issues, I mentioned is still there. The second issue seemed to have gone away.

- If I enable Auto-rotate screen under Settings->Display, the phone by default opens everything in landscape mode. Rotating to portrait works in a few apps (slow) and some outright does not work. So I have unchecked the box, so that everything comes in Portrait mode. I lost auto rotate capability because of this.

- The browsing was slow and it also dropped connection during an download. Few minutes later I was downloading Dolphin browser and phone shut itself completely. Removed the battery for few minutes and restarted the phone. Things seem to work now. Not sure if it has solved whatever issue I had before. Still testing this one.

i've never had any issues with the auto rotate other then that i want/wish we could have 180 degree support.

strange question, anyone know the cache partition size? or am i overlooking something i should have already found?

First let me say LOVE LOVE LOVE the ROM. Quadrant tested 1243!!! my 2 sons on stock ran 446 and 593. Mobile hotspot is phenomenally better.

The only issue I've had is that I seem to be roaming a LOT more than usual.

thanks for all your hard work . after two days, staying up till 5 to play with my phone and being late the next day to work i have successfully flashed thunderom and love it.

I was wondering if anyone is having the same issue of the baseband reverting back to v8 after updating to v9 on stock and then flashing this rom? any suggestions?

didn't even notice but youre right baseband version LS670MV8_6038

but SW version LS670V9

"Whats the battery like on the new TR?"

well i OCd to 806, turned on bluetooth, hotspot, max brightness, was downloading on my laptop via hotspot, downloading in the market and still moving around to keep the screen bright and it took almost 8 minuets for my battery to move from 100% to 99%, i'd say that's damn good.

50% battery use bug in rom, fixed in cyanogen forum

I know this is a froyo bug, is there anyway to fix it with this rom?

Cell battery standby usage = 49%
Cell idle time = 100%
Time without a signal = 50%
Battery life =70% after 1/2 hour of pandora

I cant find the like right now but there was a post in
Cyanogen forum
saying they fixed it so I was hoping it could be possible to fix it in this rom.

oh here it is

Time without a signal = 50% - CyanogenMod Forum

I can confirm this too. I also was on 2.2.1 before I flashed.

It looks like the baseband is coded into the ROM (by LG/Sprint) rather than reading the true baseband from the radio (how HTC does it). This means we could change it to say "IFxingRock" and that's what your baseband would show as. If you had the V9 radio, you have the v9 radio. You cant flash radio's currently with these phones so it's not possible for us to provide a different baseband, just different words to show in the baseband field.

Right now it is not possible for any developer to improve or reduce your phones ability to communicate with towers. These are controlled by radios/PRL/ and PRI. These cannot currently be flashed so no developer can improve or reduce your signal. What you have is what you have. Period.

It's a display issue that's not worth spending any time on because if we change it to v9 then people with v8 will think they just got a radio and if we leave it at v8 people with v9 will think they lost a radio. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't so IMHO it's simply not worth investing any time.

Cheers!

EDIT - Just wanted to mention that in the future maybe we can look into having it read properly from the radio but again, since it's just a display issue, it's not going to be above things like flash 10.1, apps2sd, our own kernel (so we can comfortably let you guys OC) all of which are actively being worked.

EDIT # 2 -were currently chasing down a crazy theory on this. Hope to have an update later. We'll let yah know ;)

EDIT #3 - Confirmed, LG hard coded the baseband to read whatever they want. If you have the radio.img from the V9 update your absolutely fine.

the key there is JITOnly. There are some issues with stagefright playing certain types of media right now.

Hmm... I wonder if that would explain why I can't view any streams using ORB either right now.

I figured it was an ORB problem... Guess I'll have to play with this.

So, basically, those flashable files you linked to are otherwise stock roms, just with those certain changes made? So if someone were on Thunderom, and liking it for the most part, flashing to JIT-Only as linked above will bring you back to stock (save for JIT being enabled now)?
