I'm having issues with rebooting after my first install of this ROM.

Sometimes, it will sit at the lockscreen for 15 sec, then reboot (LG logo, then android splash), other times, I let it sit at the lockscreen after reboot, then wake the phone back up, and start downloading an app from the market, and it will reboot again.

I did notice after getting this phone a few days ago that I've had a random reboot at least twice - I'm wondering if I got slightly faulty hardware and it's exasperated by the overclocked kernel?

I have to go back to stock for now, but if anyone has suggestions I should have time to try tomorrow. Thanks!

Figures you guys would come out with an OC update today since I purchased SetCPU today. lol Please keep up the fantastic work!

So what's in the works for 1.7? :D

Yeah sounds like either an app you've installed (more likely) or faulty hardware (less likely) but thats not normal behavior at all ... Unless we're talking about a winmo phone lol :)

I have noticed that when calling, it takes longer to "dial" than it normally would before TR. Is this a known issue?

To me it seemed faster, i could be wrong i think i ran stock for a couple hours. Do you have google voice installed? I know that makes any phone dial slower.

There could be a couple things i would say try either copy all your data off the sdcard and formatting it. Then if the problem still happens i would revert to stock,if the problem keep happening then i would exchange.

What is a good widget to monitor cpu speed?

The best widget to me is the one included with setcpu. It's on the market or if your a member of xda then do a search over there, just think about supporting the developer if you do.
Other then that i don't use a widget cause to me it would use more battery to poll and tell me the cpu freq. I use android system info(market) to see what cpu is doing in that app it will even give you a detail of % spent at cpu levels.

I would like to thank Beezy for his help today. yesterday I rooted and installed my first rom (ThundeROM 1.5) using zroot. For some reason I can not get my PC to install the right drivers for (Android Sooner Single ADB Interface) it just will not install it. I tried the PDANet and USBDet but nothing. So I used the thread posted by KSmithInNY on how to root without using a computer and all went as designed. I had some issues with Steel my Elegance by Nick7 but he updated it and it was a breeze to install at that point. I'm learning a lot of nomenclature here and it's good that you can install a revised ROM and keep your data, settings and apps.

A bit of background info: I do performance mods to the 3rd Generation Hemi's (300-Chryslers, Magnums, Chargers, Challenger and SRT8 Jeeps) from engine upgrades to suspension mods. So upgrading this little Phone with a Linux OS was a challenge to say the least. As with my other forum (LXForums) you folks are the best at what you do and I appreciate all the help you have given me. Semper Fi Anyway thanks for the entertainment value I rate this a 10.5 only because I missed a few calls before I un-bricked my phone.

im thinking gingerbread should be out soon for our Optimus'. That will make a sweet 1.7 Thunderrom.

Just flashed from 1.5 to 1.6 (was running 1.5 with the xiomora kernel and SetCPU). Everything seems fine (I'll be keeping SetCPU for the time being though so that I can keep it at 245-729 instead, set to Interactive), except when I go into the Gallery App, it appears that all thumbnails for my existing photos (except for the very last one I took) are gone. Just straight grey squares for all the existing photos. If I click on one, it goes full screen fine, and works as expected. If I zoom back out to thumbnail view though, no thumbnails ever seem to show up. This was working fine previously with 1.5.

Anyone else seeing this, or any suggestions on what to do to possibly fix this? I've tried going back into recovery and wiping the cache and also wiped the dalvik-cache... no avail.

Thanks in advance. Looks great so far otherwise though :)

Quick question: The streaming audio I like to listen to requires stagefright to be enabled. When I'm in recovery and I flash 1.6 over 1.5, can I then stay in recovery and flash the deluxe prop file, or do I need to boot in to ThundeROM first and then go back in to recovery to flash deluxe prop?

Thats weird thumbnails are stored on the sdcard. Have you changed for formatted the your sdcard lately? Try clearing data on the Gallery app.

You should be able to flash it without rebooting.I can't promise that it won't give you problems but it didn't to me when i did it.

I just want to say thanks for whatever you did to the fonts. They look MUCH cleaner and crisper and easier to read! You guys are awesome!

Good eye, I didn't catch this. The font in the messaging app is noticeably different. Can't really tell in the browser.

Thanks guys, I had formatted the sd card in my hero before removing and putting it in my optimus - I'm wondering if that was one of the issues as well. The rebooting happened before I could install anything after a full wipe and fresh flash of 1.6.

I'll try formatting the card and only copying the necessary data back to reflash the rom. Thanks for the suggestions!

So glad I don't have a winmo...

Tried that, no luck. I've also tried flashing the JIT only buildprop, and even manually cleaning out the thumbnails stored in the DCIM folder on the SD. Nothing. Looking through aLogcat, I am seeing the following message repeated every time I go into thumbnail view, seems connected:

D/skia (2255): -- SkImageDecoder::Factory returned null

Any ideas from that?

Thanks.

PS - And no, aside from loading Thunderom1.6 onto it to flash, haven't done anything with the SD since 1.5. TR1.6 was loaded by enabling USB on the phone and copying, never even removed the SD from the phone at all.

Just wanted to say thanks again for this ROM. I noticed the new update and got jittery lol. I do have a question though, using setcpu, what should the min value be around?

Experiencing some pretty major keyboard lag that I didn't get in 1.5. Rebooting solves the problem for a little while. The lag holds across the 4 keyboards I have installed.
