Alright, I did a full back down to stock everything... using the Nandroid I had backed up.

I updated to VC then to 1.7. No Problem's.

So 1.6.2 V9 to 1.7 VC is not good, you will get many problem's.

My Quad score is back to the 1k+

Yay!! No bricks!!!

Yep, everything run's perfect too.... After about 15-20 min's I'll update again, by then I will have my personal stuff back. So I will be able to verify that it's 100% a go.

Oh and just so the peeps know...if you upgrade and then roll back to 1.6.2, you have to run the OTA stop buggin again apparently, as I am now getting nagged to update...but holding off...

Do I need to unroot and go to the stock backup in order to do the update? Can I do the non OTA update and keep my root?

I have been running 1.7 for awhile now... If you have flashing capabillities the update does not harm them, you will lose root due to the OTA.

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the OTA update, shutdown phone.... start up BIOS and flash into TR 1.7. It will reroot the phone.... PLUS you will have 1.7.

I have done it already, and I am running fine. I have root, I have minfreemanger running perfect again. Everything for me is G2G, plus I have had no SD card dismount's.

P.S. After the TR flash it will put to more packages into your sd dir, I flashed TR 1.7 then flashed TR Deluxe.

This is promising! I hate rooting. My phone took forever, but my husband's...only 2 tries and I got it! I must have done mine like 200! LOL

I do too, but I did it anyways like a idiot xD.

Run through my step's, I had a Nandroid back up from before I went to ThundeROM. I rooted my phone and got flashing to work. So I had stock everything. I ran the Nandroid back up.... So I was on V9, everything stock.

Plugged my phone into my PC. Ran the LG update... (took forever). Restarted my phone made sure I had updated System Updates, Firmware, PRL, Profile.... Shut down phone. Flashed to TR 1.7, then flashed again the Deluxe Build Prop (Which come's with TR 1.7 after you flash it unpack's it.)

Started up phone and had 1.7, rooted.

Only thing that sucks.... is you have to get on your apps n stuff back. :(

K or B If you will please make a small fix for the mapping of the button's. This is driving me crazy...

So people can choose with that would rather have. I know this is both of your's, but I really don't want another ROM. I like this one, everything about it is great.

Figure id report in here.
Flashed from 1.6 to 1.7 but with on problem, I couldn't get 3g access.
So after a bit of dark mubbling I figured I should reflash and everything worked fone after that.
Even the annoy OTA notifications stopped and my phone is up to date. Thanks guys so much for the lastest update and all the hard work that goes into this rom.

I see a lot of posts from people stating they want to see various features added to this rom, however, I don't believe there are any "should or shouldnt's" for this ROM, as K and B have stated before - This ROM is their personal preference which is why they were kind enough to work on Lego Rom, making endless possibilities via custom zip flashes. So, i guess it's up to them if they take requests on their own preferences ;)

If your talking about being able to turn the screen on with all the buttons instead of just the power button then yes it will be posted later today, I'm being lazy and don't feel like doing it right now.

It can be a pain I've had a lot of fun trying to test everything but i said screw and updated so i didn't have to worry about anything.

:D Thank you,This is true we did decide on this device that we were making this mainly for our personal preference. We don't mind making little things to add small tweaks or feature's but lego is the Rom to customise to your personal liking. Little things like keyboards, button mapping,or sprint apps no biggie they are very simple to make.Hope everyone enjoys the update.:p

So you can run the LG updater even with a custom recovery? Couldn't you just restore a 1.6.2 backup after getting to the vc baseband then flash 1.7 over that and have all your stuff?

Confused......

Will there be an easy way to go to 1.7 from V9 1.6.2 without having to re-root or go back to stock?

I rooted using Z4 and did all the custom recovery using terminal emulator on the phone as I could not get the pc drivers to work.

Haven't flashed yet but I think I have an idea on how to fix the bottom buttons to wake the phone again. Check the following file (I use root explorer):

/system/usr/keylayout/thunder_keypad.kl

Check the lines for home, menu, back and search. Home should have another parameter after it - WAKE, and the others - WAKE_DROPPED.

Either add those or pull a copy of the file from an old image then restart the phone.

This suggestion makes the admittedly large aassumption that this was how K & B made this change.

This is a good idea. Can anyone confirm if the VC update * requires* going back to stock (stock room and recovery, unroot) or can the update be applied via the LG update tool as is?

Well, if it hasn't been confirmed by tonight I will just give it
A shot when I get home from work tonight. i don't see why it would cause problems.
