Deciding on a case

How are you guys deciding on a case? It's not even delivered yet. I've preordered my phone and I want to have a case ready when it gets here.
I want a case that keeps it safe (as can be) but allows use of the edges. But, I don't want a case that makes it bulky. I'd like the kickstand.
Spigen, it seems, would be the best bet. But I don't want a black case.
I'm thinking this will be my first phone that has a dress case and a casual case. And times when it just wants to be buck naked.
Totally high maintenance cell phone.
Just wondered how you're deciding on a case before the phone even gets in our hands.

I love urban armor gear cases. They're durable and I like the look. They also don't interfere with the infinity screen or buttons.

Otterbox comuter for me. It's pink and i really liked the comuter i had on my note 2. That case saved my note 2 from complete destruction when i dropped my phone in a mosh pit. The only other case i'll probably pick up is a battery one whoever decides to put one out first.

pink cases on black phones are so sleek looking!! I love it!!

Those UAG cases look pretty sharp as well the higher-end ones are quite expensive but they are very nice looking and look like they provide extremely good protection

I never answered this, and I thought I did...

My personal criteria for a case is to keep the screen in tact as best as possible, and with almost all of the Flagship Samsung devices now becoming almost all glass, it's even harder to do.

The Note7 was my first device that I had, that I felt I needed to have something to protect it all around. When I got it I noticed that the most obvious weak point of protection would be the front of the device, because the curved edges, since it's introduction on the Galaxy devices, would always be exposed.

Once I got the device in hand with some clear cases, I noticed that almost all of them have a rather large cut out for the SPen area, and practically leave that entire corner if not most of the corner exposed and didn't offer much protection in the event of a drop and that corner was the one it would land on. That was a big deal breaker for me with a lot of cases, and after I got them, i quickly returned them after I tried them on my device. That's how I found reviews and posts on the i-Blasion/Supcase Unicorn Beetle line. For my sanity, they seemed to offer the most protection for the corners on any device, and especially the Note.

As soon as fate set it on the Note7, and I got the S7E, I didn't bother to look at any other case, and I ordered the same Unicorn Beetle Pro case for my S7E. Knowing how it holds up, I already have one ordered for my Note8. I am still thinking of getting a clear case, for the Note8, but I need to see how well the cover the corners.

I hope that helps.

I don't see why it wouldn't. The defender series always supported wireless charging for me I don't see why this would be different.

I can say that The Defender Case I gave my wife for her S8+ does not allow wireless charging. OtterBox cases are usually awesome if a tad bulky, I did not care for the S8+ version.

Cheers,
BR

I had the SupCase on my Note 7 and loved it (Great protection around the s-pen slot) solid build great price and it was available before the Note so I had it on day one. I have a Spigen Tough Armor for my Note 8 at home waiting for it's device to arrive. (I had the Note 7 Tough Armor case and with the N8 version they did improve the protection around the s-pen slot)

Received my Ringke Blue Wave case this afternoon and to be fair it looks good, can't wait to try it on. So I tried it into the nylon phone pouch I also purchased for work and it's a tad tight, can just about zip it up so it should work ok.
The spigen Neo Flex wet applied screen protector should be interesting, it says that it's Spigen case friendly so that could be interesting with the Ringke case but I'll give it a go, not to bothered either way to be honest, don't mind using the phone in it's naked screen beauty :)

Picked up two cheap cases. Under a buck for both.

Wet application is useful for alignment.

Have anyone tried something like this?

This method of pasting should be simple enough

I have the Defender for the s8 and wireless charging works fine and I've tried it in several different wireless chargers
