Delete Google calendar app

I have two calendar apps on this phone. The Samsung calendar app I can't delete, and the Google calendar app I can. They both seem to have the data I entered into the Gogle calendar, so guess both are synced to my Google calendar in the cloud. Can I uninstall the Google calendar app and just have one without deleting the entries that are in my calendar? I have a Samsung J7 that only has 16gb of storage and so I need to pare down the apps I've installed.

Yes, you can safely delete the Google Calendar app without deleting the calendar appointments from your phone. Both of the apps - Samsung Calendar and Google Calendar - are accessing the same calendar database, so as long as you keep syncing from your Google account's calendar, the information will remain on your phone regardless of which app you use to manage it.

Thanks. I figured that was how it worked, and that's how it should work. But I learned long ago about assuming things!
