Developer Edition - Available April 19th

I'm gonna give them until about 2'o clock central time then if I dont have a tracking number I'll cancel. HTC has dropped the ball big time. If I dont get it tomorrow im gonna just wait until I can see the htc one and s4 side by side...maybe even look at the LG.

Someone on XDA is claiming they sent him a reply that stock would not be available until tomorrow. No big deal for me, really. I am not buying one full price at an AT&T store either.

Man, some people are so impatient... you'd rather cancel your order rather than wait a few more days? Like, somehow, if you can't have it ON LAUNCH DAY, you'd rather not have it at all? Wow...

It's not about the phone, it's about sending a message.

On a more serious note, HTC needs to win over customers, given their current place in the smartphone race. And failing to deliver pre-orders on time won't help them. People want their orders. I pay for Amazon Prime for a reason. HTC really needed a win here. If anything, they should have tried to ship/deliver early.

If they don't ship today, it's unlikely that most of us will even get it until next week, even with overnight shipping. That's kind of unacceptable to me.

You're talking to people who preordered literally within 5 minutes of it going live. These are not patient people myself included. More so than having to wait a few days for the phone itself its the whole principle of why the hell did I preorder if I'm not going to be o e of the first to get it?

I'm usaully patient to the point of seeing other people order almost a week after me and recieve their phones. I'm not abandoning the phone, just wondering if it's worth the wait when I may be able to get the Tmobile version not long after. The Tmobile version we know will support HSPA+ 42 and LTE. This is were my doubt is creeping in. I really want that 64GB of storage and unlocked sim & bootloader though.

^this. They announced the phone feb 19th saying it would be available around march 20th. They have postponed it until april 09th, then april 18th. I paid for over night shipping..so..now I wont get the phone until next week. Hell the s4 is coming on in a week or so. HTC has made a mistake. Just tell me the truth...when will i get it thats all. Its what I do in my business. If I jack a customer around..guess what... I get chewed out and I lose business.. simple..

Correct. Some people have forgotten about the multiple delays and failed promises on this phone. Do we still want it? Heck yes, but may buy an AT&T version in store in the morning IF no tracking info is sent this evening by Let'sTalk..

What's stopping you from cancelling Let'sTalk order and get one from AT&T or Sprint?

Technically nothing, but most ordered these models so they wouldn't have to deal with carrier models and their bloatware/restrictions..... especially AT&T's.

Fair enough, I guess you have to make some kind of sacrifice one way or the other :)

Agreed. Some people will be impatient and forget about the original need of the developer model is it means they can have the device sooner. I think people would be better about it if they knew when they would get the device. But right now, it still seems unknown which would make someone just sacrifice for the AT&T model. But people can always get the developer model later. Either when it's available via HTC or resellers.

I ordered the dev edition today but didn't receive a confirmation email despite a charge pending on my credit card. Is this normal?

I never got the email, but when I called up the order had been placed. I called them to ask for a different delivery address, and after that call I got an email with my order number. I checked all my folders - the email just never came in.
